Tottenham Hotspur host Arsenal on Sunday when Premier League action resumes and they have been dealt another blow amid their current injury woes.

Uruguay international midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been charged by the FA over his comments on teammate Son Heung-min during the Copa America in the summer, and he now has until September 19 to respond to the charge.

John Terry calling Rio Ferdinand a black cu?t was absolutely fine though.

Also, when is Enzo Fernandez being banned for singing racist songs on camera?

The club needs to fight this.
Absolutely not.

What we need to do is accept it, whilst pointing out other cases that have gone unpunished.

Lolo made a crass joke that actually close friends wouldn't even mind. He apologised and it was accepted.

But, we should accept punishments for trangressions that other clubs haven't got for far worse examples of racial abuse?

Reading the charge, there is a specific sub-point which relates to inappropriate comments made to the media.
This is where he’s bang to rights.

It'll get better once the NLD is out of the way, there's a lot of anger after a few less than ideal results and people are looking for various things to blame with banter merchants in their ear saying Ange is too naive conceding the same type of goal time after time.

Slow starts to the season are normally rough but having 'them down the road' doing well over the last couple of years always makes it feel worse. Personally, I'm still optimistic that the football we're playing will bare fruit and there are good times ahead but it's tough to block out the negativity and shake my head at the over-the-top reactions on twitter.

Off topic for this thread I know but if you're looking for some intelligent Tottenham talk without the knee-jerk negativity you can do worse than give this thread from one of the Athletic team a read where he re-visits the Newcastle game

Lolo can't seem to catch a break at the moment! Does anyone have a copy of the interview they could share with me?

Seems a bit much for an ill judged, poor taste attempt at a joke. There was no malicious intent in what he said, it was just incredibly thick and insensitive. Punishment is fine and justified, 6-12 games seems excessive in my opinion. There’s been players racially abusing other players on the pitch with hateful intent who have received less (or no) punishment

I'd imagine he might get a couple of games mate, but I can't see it being 6-12.

Players who transgress off the pitch should be punished off the pitch in my opinion.

basically it was a joke that him and Song probably have all the time,
but the fool went and said it on nationally TV,
I think he needs to sit this one out, just for the fact the idiot said it on TV

Times change and people's attitudes change. It's one of those one's where we have to accept that the tolerance level for what can be said is not the same as 10, 20 or however many decades ago. He'll have to take it on the chin and move on.
