Isnt there a spurs XI side friendly too?
Whilst they may be good for marketing etc. I don't see the point of these foreign tours/matches when we never seem to have the whole squad together and it isn't easy for players or new signings to join up with the squad and settle in when they are off around the world somewhere, plus with all the travelling it eats into time that could be spent on the training pitch and getting the players up to speed with what the new manager wants from them and the tactics/system.
Still, guess it cant be as bad as last years pre-season. That was just farcical.
Hope to catch them in Seattle... fingers crossed! Better be freakin' worth it - last thing I want to do is catch Tim Sherwood's youth XI, while the first team are busy doing photo ops with 2 minutes of sub time!
Welcome to the global sport brand. Nothing to do with a team, more to do with brand awareness and breaking into the US market. We have Underarmour here which is a real plus for spurs. Their flagship manhattan store in soho has a nice spurs centerpiece.
Just need to match on the pitch...
All US games on BT sport according to http://www.wheresthematch.com/Football/Tottenham-Hotspur.asp
I'd rather we spent a week doing this at the end of a season. They can faff around then doing all the meet and greet, promotional/marketing stuff and play a couple of exhibition games that they want.
For me we shouldn't be wasting time pre-season, especially under a new manager, traipsing across the globe and the increased headache of getting the whole squad together. Spend the most amount of time possible drilling them on tactics/fitness etc, maybe then we can maximise the potential out on the pitch...
