As much as I / we all love the beast ... He has never been fit for a whole season.. And I don't see that ever happening.

But I'm still torn wether thinking that's enough to help us get in someone of the same quality as him ... * or if that's already here in terms of Capoue * or wether it's best keeping him because when he is fit he's extremely good

"Just 25 appearances in an injury hit campaign"

Most players would be over the moon to play 25 times a season.

I'd be surprised if Poch has ANY intention of letting Sandro leave and all of this talk is probably just a hangover from the turbulent times under Sherwood, especially for Sandro in particular.

That said, if we decide to sell him then I'd be happy enough for it to be to Serie A. I couldn't cope seeing him at another Prem team.

I also think Capoue has the potential to be awesome next season under Poch.

I reckon Poch will want to see the players in training and a couple of pre-season friendlies before he gets Levy to start shipping out players.

I'll be disappointed if we get rid of anyone. We got within a couple of wins of top 4 last season with "7 new players" and two managers. Now with some experience under the belt it seems crazy to break the team up and start again. Again.

Sandro's had some good games for us, and also some 'less glorious performances '- which ultimately attracted criticism from the coach, to which he responded by tweeting dissent rather than pulling his socks up.

He's also never been totally free of injuries, which is a shame for him and a concern for us. Yes, he's a good guy and fun in the dressing room with his antics but that alone is not enough.

Given that they started at €10m (which was a joke mindyou) I'd be amazed if they or anyone else would pay £20m for him - if we got €20m we'd be doing well.

As the anchor of a 3 man midfield i can imagine he is up there with the very best; tackling, positioning, intercepting and a nice line in long range shooting. His passing isn't the best so in a double pivot he is often found wanting. Problem is that southampton played with a double pivot. it may be that he simply doesn't fit the system and will go but i would love to think Poch will give him every chance. If he can at least prove his fitness he would double the value most teams seem currently willing to pay.

Tough one. We all know there could be something special about him but he's also injury prone and a red card waiting to happen.

I'd give him one more season on the same terms.

Must not sell him. He is the only out and out destroyer we have that makes me feel genuinely confident that our back 4 is protected. I ascertain that our defenders wouldn't have been caught out half as much if he'd played more games.

This story has been around for months in various guises. Have Napoli actually bid in all this time? (I don't know). Today they are linked to Sissoko at Newcastle.

10 points - 11 if you include goal difference.
We put no pressure on fourth place and very little on 5th place.
And the football was appalling and the key results worse.

Poochie pretty much can do what he wants with this team -
I'd argue that Lloris should be kept - even though that pretty much forces the high line on us, and I'd like to see Daws and Lennon kept - partly for loyalty but mainly because we look better when they are fit and in the team. (These 3 will no doubt be first out the door.)

Otherwise I can't say I'd be bothered if any of the other players were sold, including Sandro. He has not looked like much of a beastie for a good while.

Loyalty is for sentimentalists.
God, that sounds tough and macho.
Yikes. You know, I partly agree with you. But only partly...;)

That me - a big old softy.
Actually Eriksen showed enough to be on the keep pile too - not sure why I forgot him. (That's the kiss of death on his future at the club too.)

Are you mad?

Vertonghen is currently preparing to start a World Cup quarter final. (Dembele and Chadli will be hoping to feature)

Bentaleb also experienced World Cup football having broken into the first team last season. Kane meanwhile finally started scoring and looking confident in the Prem.

Lamela was a major Serie A player and is one of our most expensive signings. Why on earth would you ship him out before even seeing him get a stretch in the team?

I can't even be bothered to explain Ericksen to you.

We struggle enough with constant managerial change please don't suggest we need a major squad change every season as well.

Much as I would like to see him stay, if Pochie doesn't fancy him, 20 million pounds will be an unbelievable price. In fact I'd urge Levy to give them a 5% discount to hasten the deal.

I'm not so sure Sandro's history of "injury problems" is as bad as been made out:
The season before last he was largely injury-free, but did undergo a serious knee injury requiring an operation right at the end.
At the start of last season I don't think he was fully recovered from that operation but, due to the way the team was playing came back maybe a little too early. After playing games in his typically robust fashion (does he know any other way to play?) he continued to get niggly injuries on and off.
I think this year he may well be fully recovered and healthy and would expect a really strong year to come.
Don't sell.
