Sometimes this life is not balanced.

Dude paid good wages, hardly kicked a ball, won two league titles, now going to get a good payoff.

He must have solid prayer warriors on his books 😁

The club may have decided it’s cheaper to pay him off than to loan him out and cover the share of his wages whichever club he would be loaned to wasn’t prepared to meet.

Which would suggest that Tanguy isn’t going to have great options if no-one was interested in taking him with us paying the bulk of salary.

Either that or he just refused flat out to be loaned again. And the club preferred not to have him linger like a bad smell.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

What a complete and tragic waste of undoubted talent. One day he might look back and wonder what might have been, but that short window will be closed to him now.
All the great players have talent, combined with heart and determination - just a shame Tanguy was missing the second part.
It is a shame. He doesn't seem to be interested enough in the game of professional football but clearly realises that he's not going to get anything like the amount of money doing anything else. Really, he should be willing to put in the application for the salary that he's getting but he's got away with it thus far. No doubt someone will be willing to take a chance on him as a free agent with his undoubted talent in the hope that they can encourage a renaissance but it's hard to imagine him turning over a new leaf.

Players who put more effort and hard work in with less talent have regretted their application when their careers are done.

I doubt that Tanguy will be one of them as his history seems to indicate a guy who doesn't do introspection very well. Every time he's fallen out with a club or manager, even dating back to his youth days, he doesn't choose to apply himself, he just waits for a move.

Only time he's been successful was when he was trying to prove a point. But now as a multi millionaire I doubt he feels he has anything to prove to anyone.

Just to add, I cannot see any club really taking a chance on him unless it is with very low financial exposure (pay as you play deal).

So everyone goes on about the £200k figure. However, surely the way spurs operate a lot of that was bonus based for appearances and such?

It would include elements of performance in the pay off. Spurs terminating the contract takes away the earning potential so he would expect some of that to be paid.

The alternative would effectively be for him to go on gardening leave, so that 'earning potential' is lost whether his contract is terminated early or not.

The only positive is that we won’t be wasting any time trying to find him a loan again this summer.

Waste of talent and a waste of money on our part, hopefully lessons were learned after this.

Is that now 5 players from our senior squad that have departed? Without us waiting for a fee. It’s almost like we mean business.

I wrote him off when we were losing a match and when he was subbed he made the slowest walk ever to get off the pitch. Absolute disgrace.
