Don't know if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but the fact is - we're the joint top scorers of the Champions League!!

As it stands:

Tottenham - 15 goals
Arsenal - 15
Valencia - 14
Chelsea - 14
B Munich - 13
Barcelona - 12
Inter - 12
Real Madrid - 11

(When I started writing this topic, my research suggested we were the only team with 15 goals - but after re-reading the stats and looking closer at the teams that are yet to qualify I had to add "joint"....)

Annoyingly Le Arse have Partizan Belgrade at home up next so should score a hatful, either that or they lose and go crashing out

this is not just for this season but the record in the Champions League group Stage currently stands at 15 goals by Real Madrid some 3 years ago, Arsenal this season and now debutants Spurs too!!!

Also pretty sure I read somewhere that before yesterday only 2 clubs have ever scored 3 or more goals in 4 games in a row in the CL - think it was Real and Juve? Not a bad little group to join!

the commentator last night said Spurs CL games have averaged 5 goals a game this season! Since we scored ONLY 3 last night I guess we'd better pull finger against Twente ;-)

There have been a total of 77 goals scored in our 22 matches played so far this season (43 for Spurs, 34 for the opposition), which averages-out at 3.5 goals per match.

In the Champions League only, it's 32 goals (21 for Spurs, 11 for the opposition) in 7 matches - an average of 4.57 goals per game.

:snooty: pfft... you try score 0.57 of a goal ;-)

Mendes did it at Old Trafford

Great stats though, most goals ever in the group stages is 15, Spurs are there with a game to spare, in the supposed 'group of death'? Maybe that was aimed at Maicons career?

Love the fact that we were 4-0 down to Inter yet still beat them on GD in the head to head.

We've never had it better.

And in 99/00 they scored 19, including 5 past Arsenal.
And in 98/99, United scored 20.

6 vs Twente it is then!
