Hes a good coach and hes done an OK job here so far. But I never have and never will like him as a man like I did with Jol and Ramos.
He runs his mouth off publicly faaar to often.

Basically he is saying to the players that if they get picked on Saturday, Harry thinks they are shit. How can you be motivated by that? How can you progress under a man who will publicly call you 'weak' when you are in the vulnerable development stage??

You don't hear Kinnear or Hughes moaning all the time about all the shit they have to work with. Both these guys have similar pressure and expectations to cope with, but they conduct themselves in a far more reserved and intelligent manner.

I know Kinear threw a wobbler when he first went there, but he can't plan further than tomorrow and still tries to get the best out of a piss poor situation.

Good post

How did you feel about Ramos with the press?
Would be a blessing if Redknapp couldn't speak fluently english and let someone else do it.

Might be his worst comment so far...

:sleepy::roll: We have had Jol, Ramos, Santini and now Redflaps. They have all failed to motivate the players (barring Jol who overperformed with them until the end when it all came unstuck again). They have all proved themselves excellent managers elsewhere. The fault lies with the players and the ingrained laziness and arrogance through board, team and supporters. We may have to go down to fully realise this, because we will be up against fighters like Burnley each week and would probably end up in League One with this bunch of wasters (not all but majority). I hope we don't but at least I realise that Harry may be the only one who can get us out of this AND would certainly be a huge asset if we do go down. They shouldn't need motivating for a game like last night and they knew Burnley would play like their lives depended on it.

You can't see what's right in front of your nose, mate, and you are the same lazy person as the players. Ooooh don't do anything with the set up and attitude and just change the manager, he's rubbish.

People posting shit like this are getting very, very boring and are trying to hang on to the system that has failed here for nigh on thirty years.

Grow up and get behind the manager who's actually showing some guts and incredulity at the pathetic attempts we make of trying to out-muscle teams by whinging at them and cutting stripes in their hair and eyebrows.

PS I also wanted Jol to stay (was disgusted by the affair and believe his failings at the end were due to Ramosgate affecting the whole club), but that has gone and won't come back.

Fair play to you Reg. This has been dragging on all day and is getting tedious. It's quite apparent that some of our so called superstars are living in a comfort zone they do not want to abandon. And why should they when they can collect their £30K every week and clear off in their flash motor to China Whites only having to worry whether about anyone has said anything nasty about them.

I find it appalling that certain players are either not prepared to roll up their sleeves and do the dirty work or do not see it as their job. These are the same players who, if we did go down, would be slapping in transfer requests quicker than a gangsta eyebrow stripe or tattoo. And therein lies the problem, a lack of commitment and loyalty - its easy to kiss the badge when you are close to top 4 than when you are fighting for your lives.

Certain players, through their lack of application and commitment have got rid of BMJ, JR and Gus. I am pleased Harry is not going to sit back quietly and let them screw him behind closed doors.

I don't ask for much out of our players apart from passion and commitment. They have ability (most) or they would not be here. Players should not need that much motivation, especially for a league cup semi final. They are playing for a fantastic football team with incredible supporters, earn bloody good money and live a lifestyle most of us can only dream of - so what more do they want.

Harry was not my choice of manager but I realise he cares about this club and will not let a few precious millionaires drag us down to the Championship for fear of upsetting them. Fair play to the fella and fair play to Dawson, O'Hara, Zokora, Woody and King and perhaps a few others who seem to say share the same passion.

They aren't fucking primary school kids ffs. They are men(and i use that term loosely) So he has critisised them publicly well maybe if they did their jobs properly more often he wouldn't have to. I know that as a person if i had been singled out for critisism and it was justified it would make me all the more dertermined to shove those words back down that persons throat, by showing them what i was capable of, what i wouldn't do is cry like a fucking big baby and the £25000/£40000 a week wages that they are on, should help their poor little bruised ego's.

And yes those that play on saturday are fringe/squad players who maybe aren't ready for the 1st team, i never heard him say that he was going to pick "shit" players. I think he called it a "mish mash" side. Probably means they'll be players playing that normally wouldn't and possibly some out of position, who knows. But is everyone one on here picking up on everything Redknapp says? Most of which are direct answers to questions asked of him.

Pathetic.

Well voice of reason, I suppose you have 2 choices-

You can sulk, under perform and try and get the manager sacked....
or
You can say to the manager 'I will show you and go out and perform'.

I am sure Harry would love to be proved wrong and would probably be big enough to say so.

I am getting bored by all this scapegoat crap now.

Could he not possibly be more subtle about these criticisms to the fucking MEDIA though??? We're talking about young, talented and naive players like Gio and Taarabt who dont play often under harry and are not fully developed, physically and emotionally, not to mention they are out of their comfort zone in England. They just want to impress us and Harry at the moment, but such condemnatory remarks wont exactly help them!

Plus he just comes across as passing the buck when he complains about the team. There are positive things about Harry Redknapp, but he is not a graceful man.

But surely there's a difference whats posted on this forum and what our manager feeds the press with :eh:

But maybe he's tried all that and thought that they STILL haven't lived up to their price tags and has now gone public with his thoughts to find out who will now fight for the team and who is going to hide.
I am not a huge Harry fan, but i don't think he is naive or stupid. We are in the crap and as we all know are looking for players to fight for the cause. He's probably tried the arm round shoulder, you are best player in the world approach but to no avail. So now he's turned to the press and publically challenged the team! Fair play!

Or maybe he should just totally destroy any confidence they have by totally ignoring them in training and not even give them a squad number like the last bloke we had in charge??

I haven't heard redknapp slate off either of those two players publicly and other than his comment regards his wife and Bents miss, just who has Redknapp slagged off to the media. Most of this lot have been allowed to get away with murder and basically do as they please well now the party is over for a few of them and i for one am glad about that. At the bottom it's tough and thats where Tottenham are right now. Ramos may not have openly spouted off about his players, but you could tell by their body language something was wrong behind closed doors. Its fucking wake up time down at the lane.

But Harry repeatedly makes comments like 8 games 2 points, what about our current league form?
I was worried by the Wigan away game and last night's match because tactically I couldn't understand what he was trying to do.
Defoe & Modric upfront? Surely he could have played Campbell who has more experience against championship sides and has done well in the CC.
I read a good article today About him which I can't find at present and he was coming out with the threadbare excuses at West Ham.
It worries me that he's trying to get his excuses in early to his credit he has addressed the tackler in midfield problem & he also tried to solve the left wing problem and can't be blamed for that not working out.
I'm worried that he seems to be losing it abit though and I feel he should keep away from the press cos I don't think some of his latest comments are to helpful.

I don't think it's fair to blame Harry for our situation at the moment imho, he has had to work with the squad he inherited and has a limited amount of time to make a few changes before the summer break.

I feel the blame lies with those responsible for assembling this team, all our great teams of the past (and those of other clubs) have had one or possibly two very talented ''flair'' players, i.e. Hoddle, Ardilles, Gascoigne and the rest of the squad made up of players that are good at doing the basics.

At the moment we have too many ''flair'' players, some not even making the bench, too many players with a fair amount of individual talent that don't seem to be able to play as a team and not enough that are good enough at doing the basic stuff.

Ok, so this is just my opinion and I'll probably get slated for it (as usual, lol) but it's honestly what I believe having seen different Spurs teams play over the last five decades.

Who here does not expect a bollocking if they do a crap job/don't try? Who here would not expect to be dressed down in front of the rest of your team if you continually laid extra work on the doorstep of your colleagues? Have you watched this team for the past year and a half? They lost us Jol through their nonceyness! They got rid of Ramos because they wouldn't get stuck in! Have you watched the other teams we play?
Every week without fail they walk all over us with their passion and fight and we wilt like pansies. IT IS NOT THE MANAGERS' FAULTS! They now would probably like to get rid of Redflaps because they won't do what they're told. THEY ARE EMPLOYEES. Employees earning more money per week than most of us earn in a year. I want rid of any player not willing to fight and I want rid now, I don't care who they are (although most with the same opinion as I could make a pretty good guess). If that's what Redflaps thinks then he's on my side.

We are already hated by other clubs and their supporters and boards for our high and mighty way of conducting ourselves even though we're at the bottom of the pack. Most of them pretty much say they don't want to do business with us and that is making it very difficult for us in this window. If Harry loses his job I think you'd all better prepare yourselves for the truth about what goes on behind the scenes because he tells it like it is and I can bet it isn't pretty! That's why it needs to be told!

I'd rather have a team of triers and fighters than a bunch of mincers at the moment. I think he should name names more often and lets be having the truth. Lennon, Jenas, Huddlestone, Bent, Bentley and the rest stand up and take a bow-you are a bunch of mince!

He IS NOT talking about Gio and Taraabt for fuck's sake, they are not first team players presently and nor should they be in this fight, they don't have the build or the experience for it! He is talking mostly about the supposed core of our midfield for the last season and a half. He's not supposed to be graceful, he's been employed to get us out of a yawning fucking great stinking hole that we've somehow dug ourselves into without even fucking breaking sweat. He's not supposed to be doing it by being nice. Grrrrrrrrrr!

I don't think Harry has said a word thus far that I havn't completely agreed with
I dont disagree with his thoughts and like you I know he is right but .......the problem I have is him making it public and grand standing for the media at the detriment of the players. He has a problem with it, deal with it behind close doors. Although I really dislike Wenger, I do have respect for him because through thick or thin, you would not hear him dissing his players in public.

Arsenal are not joint bottom of the premiership. I doubt very much if we would see a cool, laid back Wenger if they were. The point is the players are being outfought EVERY match, whoever they play.
