And hugely overpriced let's be honest.

Genuinely do you believe its smart business forking out 70m-80m for a striker with 1 1/2 seasons left until he costs 0??

Well then you don't get him.

If he goes for 0 he can pick the club handing him the best salary. And that won't be us either.
Why do we care if he has 1,5 years left or 5? Its not often a hot prospect is available for us. If there is a possibility it could be smart to invest. We won't go broke doing that...

I know we are talking £90-100m of debt - but Rabiot and Werner in would give the whole club a boost and completely transform our squad depth. They are seemingly available and have resale value too which is always favourable for our model.

The consequence is that we will be squad heavy for 6 months, but I'd assume we could offset some of the wages and transfer fees by letting Janssen, Llorente, GKN go in this window on loan or sold.

Summer suddenly then looks a lot different for us and we have options;
-We could let Wanyama go if he doesn't rediscover his form
- We could let Lamela go (Sorry i like lad but prefer Werner) if Eriksen is not sold
- We could look to strengthen other positions at the back if anyone leaves

1-2 signings in Summer if the right players are available is all we would need to take another step forward.

I did read it, but if you want to nail your beliefs purely to something you read on twitter then you do that. If he’s going to go for that sort of money then they will hardly care where it is as long as it isn’t Bayern.

there is always a chance they were his terms, meaning RB would sell to another higher.

if those were his terms then not sure we would want him using us as a stepping stone

With a small amount of time left on his contract Werner will obviously have his pick of where he goes in the near future, along with top wages and a big signing on fee. He might be quite happy to wait for that, and if he does I doubt we'll be near the top of his list. Waving cash now might not have any effect.

We won't know unless we try. Whatever happened to "To Dare Is To Do?"

I'd rather we went all in on Zaha to be honest. Reports saying Dortmund want to spend the Pulisic money on him and Zaha wants to leave for CL football. We'd have to pay a premium but he's a player who can both improve our first XI and increase our options in terms of style of play.

You think he's better than son/dele/eriksen?

@spids didnt say ‘better than’, he said ‘increase our options in terms of style and play.’..

Feel free to untwist those y-fronts in your own good time, dear boy!

To be fair - he actually said: "but [Zaha is] a player who can both improve our first XI"

To improve our first XI - he has to be better than Dele/Erisken/Son

I don't think many people would agree he is better than any of those players. He might offer something different, but then that is a lot of money for a squad player who offers something different
