Would it be better or worse for us to sell more away tickets, if it doesn't look like we'll sell out our home end?

More support for the opposition isn't that helpful - but it would help the atmosphere... and would the atmostphere help us - More vocal away fans can gee up the home fans as well. Obviously someone like Burnley wouldn't bring that many fans, but for someone closer, might it make sense?

Chavs only have an allocation of 2900.
That seems low to me? I think London derbies will be treated differently because of security fears?

Old Trafford is 75k and we normally get around 3k don't we? So a bit on the low side at Wembley. I wonder how many Burnley will get.

This is all to do with price. The cheapest ticket is 45 quid I think. Even massive clubs such as Barcelona help sell out their games by offering top tier tickets for very little. You put the top tier tickets at 20 quid, the stadium sells out. But whatever reason they didn't do that.

Hopefully they will learn as the season goes on, and take the lessons into the new stadium. (which should be full every week anyway with 30k less)

There are 805 tickets still on sale - yes, I sat and counted every green dot!

That would suggest over 80,000 however, a lot of blocks on the upper tier may have had the rear sections held back.
Therefore, I would guess closer to 72/73k actual attendance, which would still fall short of the current PL record.

So am travelling to London this weekend from Oz and am struggling to get a ticket.

Tried through the official site but they won't sell as apparently you had to register prior to July 1, despite having tickets available.

Would appreciate any help in finding a ticket, happy to over the odds too.

Cheers.

Someone in either this thread or the Wembley one said they could just click through while not logged in - something might have quietly (or accidentally changed - you might want to give it another go.

I think season ticket holders and members can still buy additional tickets for "guests"

Just tried again, and at check-out it is asking for Client Reference.

They are probably going all the time, and those other sections it appears are not being sold, if you click on some sections where there are seats they are empty, I don't know how many those empty sections amount to though or if they would open further sections if the remaining 805 (or less now) go?

Agree - The Independent are trying to claim we'll only be at 70k (and go as far as saying upper tier closed o_O), but I do think it will be a higher attendance than that.
Some, but not all, of the upper tier blocks seem to have left back 5-10 rows off sale, but others have tickets right to the back.

Having another look It looks pretty good to me, could well be a record.

a few rows of 12 seems to be the biggest gaps but right up in the gods so I don't think it's going to look sparse in any way.

I wouldnt give any team more than they give us fuck em id rather have empty seats in the ground than more Chelsea or Man U or whoever fans.

The problem with going to Wembley is there will be loads of tickets for sale every game, we're not going to suddenly gain that many fans that want to go to every game and many think they could buy a season ticket and sell the games they can't go to easily. It wont happen.

Looks like most sold

A few at back not been put up for sale but reckon club might open up.

I would say around 80k

Fuck sake, that's not bad considering they are real ticket prices (a la not West Ham) and it's August.

Club won't open those up, as police and authorities have instructed them not to.
With quite a lot potentially being available, it would open it up to Chelsea fans potentially getting hold of them.

It's definitely a cracking figure regardless, considering the CL tickets were about £25 each in upper tier and on average they are £45 for this game.
