Hmm.. was just randomly browsing bluemoon, as someone posted Walker info from there earlier tonight. In their Alexis Sanchez-thread they were discussing Lemar, for some reason, and someone posted "Was at Spurs training ground today" as a response to him being linked to Tottenham.
I also saw afcamden, supposedly some Arsenal ITK (please don't kill me. Or worse: ban me) tweet "Arsenal & Spurs in the race to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco. Talks in London over the coming days" earlier tonight. He also said it's 50/50 between the two clubs.
Might just be bollocks, but might also be some truth in it?
Could be nothing to do with lemar but Poch was at the training ground today as he did an interview for Spurs tv talking about the international yesterday with France vs England.

Does get me a little excited tho

Im all for it - if we buy enough players from the south of France one of them has to come good.

To be fair, the last player we bought from AS Monaco was Jurgen Klinsmann and he didn't turn out too bad for us....

(y)

Just when I thought I couldn't love that handsome, suave bastard anymore...:joyful:

Well, that's very kind of you, but all I was doing was quoting the Telegraph...

:shy:

French captain now plays for us
I'm perfectly aware of that but there is an undoubted French connection - past and present - which is alluring for players to be linked with Arsenal.

Sincerely hope Lloris has been putting feelers out there so let's see eh?

My Monaco supporting French work colleague hasn't heard anything regarding Lemar from the French media side of things.

I don't know, what is it with the French?.

Wenger can't see half the time, your workmate can't hear. Non!, Non!, Non!. ;)

On a serious note, Lemar does look a talent. Makes the game look so easy. A big yes please from me.

Gutted if he ends up at the Woolwich Wanderers.

Asked if he has been urging Lemar to join him at Spurs, Lloris smiled and said:

“You’re right to ask the question, but I cannot reply!”

JJ confirming that Arsenal are in for Lemar, and when asked if he'd go there after us he said 'I don't know ask him FFS' so I'm guessing the ball is in Lemar's court. Can't say I'm overly confident, CL has been proven to mean nothing when the money offered is less...

Saying the same as the Arsenal ITKs then.

General consensus is that we're both in for him and it's up to him. Finger's crossed.

There is also the small matter of matching whatever Arsenal are willing to pay Monaco.

Fucking goons. How many attacking midfielders they need FFS!?

So you could say that right about now Lemar is 50/50?
If I was him and had a choice, CL aside. I would want to go to the more progressive side, and where there seems to be a strong team ethos, along above all else, the manager. I would want to watch what happens to Sanchez, and any other key players. You have to bear in mind that the vibes within the game would have you believe there is not a nice place to be at present.

lol you are understandably bias though!

Problem is we have seen time and time again that the team that pays the most wages wins out in situations like these. Remember the season we beat Man City to a CL place? It is well know we targeted both Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz *shudder* but they still moved to City because of wages.

As a fan it can be hard for us to understand but to a footballer it's a career and in the majority of cases they will choose the option that maximises their earnings.
