We had 3 at the back, to say we played like it is a stretch though.
I didn't get to watch the game because I was at work but according to my son, we set up as a back three but actually played like nobody had a clue what they were doing or where they were supposed to be.

And to think that when the lineups were announced, I was so happy with the prospect of Gray playing in the middle of the pitch. 🤣

I can't say I ever saw him at AGF so interesting to read. What system did you guys play at that point? Was it more possession or defensive. I read somewhere that he was used at RCB but often operated as a hybrid RB?

As I said above I can't really comment on his time prior to his move to Udinese and last season they were a complete mess but this season he has looked good although obviously he had his calf injury. I agree that he isn't really what we need at the moment tho, if Romero goes we need to spend on a proper upgrade and we don't really need a back up RCB Vuskovic with coming in.
Watching AGF for anyone outside of Denmark would be unprecedented. Even for you :ROFLMAO:

He was normally deployed in the middle of a back three. He might have deputised a couple of times as RCB, but he was actually planned to take over the LCB for Yann Bisseck (who was sold to Inter Milan) just before he moved to Udinese.

I worry about bringing defenders in from Serie A these days. The league is so different and defenders tend to look better than they actually are IMO.

So he's no better than Dragusin or an out of position Gray?

Good ball playing defender with a eye for a pass. I like him although he isn't a world beater. He's a right footed RCB and plays in a three tho. Believe he played in a back 3 in his previous club as well so maybe some adapting need to swap to a back 4. Not sure how much we really need him currently as he's not an upgrade on our current starting options. But then again I guess Romero is likely off and Radu doesn't fit the system so certainly not a bad depth target (but not a starter).
Seen him several times when he was at AGF. Def not a world beater

I guess the big question is, is he better than Phillips ?

Same young right footed CB

Yeah as I mentioned to PerScoutDenmark above I can’t really comment on his time there and his first season at Udine was turbulent to say the least but this season he’s looked quietly impressive at times and put in some solid performances notably against Atlanta and La Viola.

I think he has a lot of skills that are highly desirable for CB these days. He has a good first touch, is comfortable carrying the ball up field, has an eye for pass, is excellent in the air. His defensive positioning and decision making def has to improve for sure and he needs refining but he’s still young, only just turned 23, and I think he still has a lot of space to develop.

I definitely don’t think he’s an exceptional talent or anything. But I think he’s the kind of player that could be a very useful rotation/back up option in a possession based system.

Like I said, wouldn’t be a top choice for me and don’t think we really need him but I get why someone like Giuntoli would like him.

I’m not sure Ange thinks Phillips is up to it. I get a feeling he doesn’t rate his ball playing ability. Idk at this stage I’d be quite surprised if he came into the squad next season.. that said I’d be quite surprised if Ange is here next season.

Is he quick? That should be a pre-requisite if we’re going to play this high line

I think we have to look at what we need. By the start of next season we really need a left footed natural LCB and probably a starting RCB. Whilst I quite like him, bottom line is Kristensen isn’t ether of those things so to me it doesn’t really matter how he compares to Radu or Gray.

If we were willing to bring in 3 cb over the next two windows then that’s different but I don’t see that happening.

Cheers for that, I haven't seen a lot of him so not sure where he sits in our pecking order

If I were to guess which of Udinese’s centre backs Postecoglu would be keen on, I’d probably go for Oumar Solet - principally for his recovery pace. Big and strong, too.

Sent off in the defeat to Cesc Fabregas and Dele Alli’s Como.

I'm surprised Brentford aren't in for him considering the Danish connection and how he fits the mold perfectly of one of those wide center backs Frank loves.
Well with recent reports, is it too crazy to think we might be looking at signing him for Frank? 👀

looking for prospects is well and good but we need someone going straight in to help out with PL experience.

that actually goes for defence, midfield AND attack

Surely Phillips ball playing skills aren’t worse than Dragusin. Dragusin has many good characteristics but ball playing isn’t one of them.
