Maybe me just being slightly cynical, but wouldn't the best way to gauge fans reaction or even to introduce the concept be to 'leak' the idea prior to any announcement or consultation? If there was a 'meltdown' then it would be quickly knocked on the head.

Alternatively of course, I do see Spurs considering that MK is just about 'homelands' still (bordering) in terms of our fan base and it could well be quite a strategic choice rather than merely a logistical one.

Hope the latest ITK isn't true. Milton fucking Keynes! Complete joke.

We're a London club. You telling me there isn't a single London club we could share with for 2 years? I'd rather play at the Emirates.

Sincerely hope the info about ST holders getting a sabbatical and not going to the back of the queue afterwards is true, otherwise it's an utter disgrace.

We couldn't afford to cover all the damage that our fans would do and a lot couldn't stomach paying a lot of rent to le Arse.

Milton Keynes has been the plan for almost a decade. I remember Paul Barber talking about it.

Another thing to remember is that our traditional fanbase comes more from areas like Hertfordshire than it does inner London (which is more Arsenal territories). So playing out in the northern home counties will actually suit quite a lot of our fans.

... Give populous a go and we soon will be playing at the emirates, ...I don't get it KSS had a great design! .. We should be modelling ourselves on Borussia Dortmund, even including scope for any potential standing space coming back into play (albeit years away) .. And 61k at least.. I'm currently 24k in the waiting list!

That kop is amazing.. I think we could easily share with another London club ..there's enough of us!

KSS design looked good a decade ago, but had already dated quite badly.

I think we should wait to see the Populous plans before commenting - they do have a good track record (with a few duds like the Emirates). They'll be designing to our spec anyway.

I
Be interested to know how many of our season ticket holders travel from north of London. Personally I travel around 250 miles from north of the wall, so Milton Keynes would actually take an hour off my 4.5 hour journey.

Would like to think that the club would consider the address data that they have before making any decision.

I think you are spot on! Biggest influx of fans is from Herts, Essex as a result of London overspills, I think MK is more viable for that reason than say Selhurst Park or Craven Cottage. Those suggesting those venues clearly have a better route to those grounds than I have ever figured out.

Twickenham would be great actually I hope we're considering there

Football isn't allowed at Twickenham. It has no football licence and there's bylaws preventing it ever happening.

Notice how it's never been included on WC bids etc, even though it's the 2nd biggest (and was the biggest) stadium in the country.

Also Twickenham has no facility for crowd segregation, which is required for football.

Milton Keynes is a town designed very much for cars. It has ample capacity.

I live locally. In the centre yes, not so much the car parks at the stadium though in my experience.

Maybe I have just had bad luck every time I have driven there for a match...

That's certainly so. It looks as if the ground-share plan has been revived because of the delays incurred by the OS wrangles and Archway trying to stiff us.

It's hardly going to take any longer to drive to MK from Enfield, say, than to Twickers (which, as you say, is a no-no anyway). Portman Road's certainly a possibility too—similar sort of capacity (slightly smaller?) and only an hour-and-a-bit from North London/Hertfordshire.

Not doubting some of what you are saying, but it should be noted that Murrayfield in Edinburgh has been used for football on quite a few occasions. Celtic just played the home leg of their CL qualifier against Legia Warsaw there. This was allowed without proper crowd segregation ala football grounds even with Legia's fans being bat shit crazy and there having been trouble in the first leg in Poland. Some of these obstacles you mention could be worked around

No, just six. The possibility of an MK ground share came up a couple of years before the stadium plans were first announced, iiirc.

I agree with you. I live around 20-30 minutes away and have been to plenty of different games there. I've never been to a game where the ground has sold out (even at 22k capacity) and every time the parking has been awful, let alone when we're there selling out every week.

There's a couple of supermarkets which don't allow match day parking and only a few small car parks where you pay entry. Not to mention I don't think there's a single pub in walking distance

Also worth noting the ground isn't in central MK, but in a smaller town called Bletchley so those getting the train from London would have to get another change from MK to Bletchley I believe

No, there's a direct Euston-Bletchley service.
