Only you could ruin this! You were being so positive yesterday - I was so proud! Now go back re-read yesterday's thread and get in the wankfest mood my friend!
I'm incredibly positive about the players we've ALREADY signed But I don't want us to start alienating the players we've signed This summer. We're already Not far from the point Where Chadli (and possibly Townsend and Holtby) won't even get on the bench. I'd love a shiny new left back and striker, But That would do me.

Great day yesterday with the 3 new signings, this transfer window is going to go down as a legendary one.

Any players we sign between now and deadline day will just be a bonus.

Personally I can see us letting go of Sigurdsson and Lennon for the right price, with Tommy being loaned out (hopefully to Ajax). Depending on where AVB would want Eriksen to play (I suspect on the left) then there would be a need for a Moutinho type CM who can help link the midfield to the attack. That'd complete the two players for every position. I think Carroll rotating with Holtby is perfectly adequate but I can see us wanting Carroll to play every week, especially in the CL if we can.

Dembele?

Or Paulinho (his preferred position is the most advanced of the CM trio?

With our fullback overlapping like they will, as both Eriksen and Lamela naturally cut in, we actually need 3 solid CMs and probably couldn't carry a traditional #8.

Aside from Friedel and Defoe on the fringes of the squad, our oldest players will be Dawson and Soldado at 28 (both with easily 4 seasons at the top left in them). We do now have a squad that will just go from strength-to-strength as players mature and gell, and which is sustainable for bulding the stadium.

Dawson's 30 in 6 weeks.

Just overexcited fans lumping on.

Also now we have won a couple and are near the top, it makes us statistically more likely as well.

I myself got 40-1. so with us winning the EL and Brazil winning the WC got about 2400/1

I think Coentrao, Vadillo and maybe Rodrigo would be the end of our window. I think Vadillo/Rodrigo are up in the air but between some of the cryptics that we are believing means Rodrigo and the links by some ITK/Journalists about Vadillo, I think both could happen if we get the fee we want.

Vadillo could provide competition to Chadli (or we could loan him back out immediately, which I might prefer). Rodrigo would give us fantastic depth across the front 3 in a 4-3-3 or on the wings and up top in a 4-2-3-1. He's also comfortable with coming off the bench which can be incredibly beneficial, especially with a guy like Defoe already here. And, of course Coentrao rounds out our First Choice XI better than any other LB we could nab (except for Alex Sandro).

Could be entirely wrong of course but I think the 3 solid CM's is a short term tactic from AVB until the team gels enough to be more comfortable with expansive football. It is intelligent management for the team to be focused on being solid and nicking games by the odd goal, seeing as attempts to attack more are likely to be less effective because the understanding isn't there yet. That's my view. I can see AVB gradually employing a number 8 like he did at Porto, especially for home games.

You have a nice drink in a bar... Demba Ba.
Is it even meant to be a cryptic? Maybe he was just saying he said we would be happy and we should owe him a drink??

The only player i can see us getting from Madrid is Coentrao. I think the likes of benzema, di Maria and ozil are staying for sure.

The one player i would love for us to sign is Arda Turan. He has it all and has a release clause i think of £22million?

Arda Turan - Soldado - Lamela

Would be disgustingly scary and effective.

Re : JJ cryptic.

Surly Fabio Coentrao i.e. the drink being Cointreau?

Good player but I have more concerns at right back than left but I shall leave that point for another thread.

I think the two players to expect are definitely a LB and a striker. As for the other, that must either be a wide left player allowing Eriksen to play as an advanced CM or a CM that would rotate with Holtby and replace Carroll who'd be loaned out. I've got a sneaky suspicion that could be Banega or Hernanes.

Why would we need to replace Carroll in our current season squad as he is being loaned out because he would not be getting a game here? I mean replacing player in the stands - he is nowhere near the bench when most players are fit - with someone like Hernanes or Banega, who cost good money doesn't seem like a smart move. If we were to bring in such players, they would have to replace someone from the actual squad that will be used.

I think we could do with signing a LB and a young Forward and that's it. No more wingers etc.

Sell BAE, Ade, Siggy, Gomes. Loan Carroll.

That's us sorted for a while I reckon.
