Did we find out who the special player we are after is?
You would of thought that the only areas that need strengthening now are at LB and a back up striker,
How special could this player be?

Do you realise how condescending you sound?

It is pretty hard to have a discussion about improving tottenham's starting XI without sounding slightly condescending (that tottenham are better than that player). All i'm saying is that in my opinion Coentrao would do a better job for us than Rose and you seem to be taking this as an attack on Rose, that he's being made a scapegoat out of etc.

Fair enough. Its probably its how you worded it. IMO it was a "I am not saying so and so is a git but.........." type scenario.

maybe. I though di maria played left? Im sure he can play both.

Di Maria' plays right, Lamela used to play central as a playmaker but Roma moved him to the right last year. Unlikely we'd move for Di Maria now we've got Lamela

Di Maria is a left winger who plays on the right due to Ronaldo. He played on the left for Benfica

If you are tempted to police the thread, you are a spammer. The mods don't need you to do their job. You commenting on why you think something is spam makes their job harder. So if you really want to help, just refuse to engage and talk actual itk

Only kidding mate, you've been doing a sterling job this window, along with Dovahkiin and a couple others, really kept this thread and the RO rolling. Respect (y)

Not really. He is like Townsend, just on a higher level. He can play on the left and be effective, or he can play on the right and cut in and be more of a goal threat. RM are all about inverted wingers. That is why Bale will likely play at RW as an inverted winger there. Calling Di Maria a LW who was moved out of position because of Ronaldo is not correct.

And I'm not sure why it matters, we aren't signing Di Maria. And our ITK is down to a trickle.

These murmurs of a big signing have me puzzled. I can't say that I even want one. If we get a top midfielder, then it is just going to make someone we just purchased somewhat redundant. That sounds like bad business. We should try to get a LB if possible and consider another striker if we can shift Ade or possibly Defoe. Other than that, I don't know why we would even be looking for more players.

It's funny because normally I'd love to have another big-name signing, but I really like what we have put together and unless it's a LF/Striker type I hope we just address what we need which in my opinion is a legitimate LB.

So, I'm still holding out hope for Coentrao. I know (according to Castles) there is the rumored contract offer on the table, but I think he's going to reject it for more game time in a pivotal season for him.
