Bale knew there would be no CL footie in May. He has signed various sponsors contracts and is the face of BT footie (i think). So off to HK he goes knowing the Club is spending more money than at any time in it's history and he himself is being offered a new contract. He then decides fuck this i no like chicken badge anymore?

I don't think so somehow.

Roger Morgan's ITK makes sense. Ignoring madrid's interest in Bale and refusing to comment on it all while Bale doesn't make a peep drives his price up. It's actually very smart.

If say Real offer £80m for Bale and he forces a move offer him to Barcelona for £75m, teach those Real fuckers a lesson and strengthen their rivals
DL won't as we have 'special relationship' with them...apparently. I'm with you though, they need to be taught a lesson as behaving like top grade xxxxs.

I can only speak personally, but that didn't fuck me off anywhere near as much as Redknapp doing the sales pitch for the team that tapped up our player.

Fair enough. Neither bothered me and I doubt Redknapp's words made Modric's mind up or pushed him to leave. Both were stupid and unnecessary, but I'm glad we're finally refusing to answer questions about Bale. I hope we do that for every transfer from now on.

Anyway, we better drop this convo before A&C gets the ban stick out...

Wasn't it the case that AVB had said his views on the Bale situation in a press conference last week and that he had nothing more to add. It seems to me that Journos have kept asking questions, AVB has lost patience because the press don't listen and therefore he has refused to answer anymore questions. I don't blame him.

Maybe Levy's in on this with Real Madrid, all this Marca/Real speculation with the price going up has kept United from bidding, as Real are the elephant in the room.

Neymar --------- Messi ---------- Bale

Every CL club might as well just call it a day.

Have we had any ITK on Neymar and Messi though? We do have a state of the art training complex so I'd imagine they'd be up for coming. That's if Levy can get Barca to sell for a reasonable price.

I still can't believe all the news today. It's such an overwhelming day and I just had the opportunity to check it now. Unless Bale has put in a request or demanded a move, I still believe he will be here. Hopefully with Soldado coming in he will see our ambition.

This really does make me laugh. He is still a Valencia player so of course he is going to train. I really don't see what the big deal is with him just getting on with his pre-season preparation with his club. Any player can get injured at any time, fuck me he could have a car crash on the way to the airport. Its highly doubtful he would get injured to the extent of the transfer not going through, and if that happens then so be it, nothing we can do about it. We could just as easily sign him and then he gets injured shortly after. It's really not worth worrying about.

This.

The odds on him getting injured this early in pre season training are slim as the focus will be on fitness with very little 'match' training.

No match training, little chance of 'impact' injuries from tackles and the like.

I hate all this shit about players not owing a club another year.

Yes he carried us last year but we stick with him through the thick and thin at the start of his career.

Even if he leaves at the end of next sason he will still be only 25; just entering his prime.

The thing that concerns me is there is a shift from some itk's from never going to happen to should stay. It's making me nervous.

I've got a bad feeling about it. It wouldn't surprise me if we spent £80m + and then on September 1st we end up with no net spend

Bit More from Roger Morgan about lies being posted

How desperately do Real want him? Also, all this talk of £80m bids - what sort of structure? They may be offering small downpayment and paying over 6 years. If it's gonna happen let's have the bulk up front, please.

I agree with everything Roger has said except this part; Under FFP Rules transfers must be paid in full within 3 years & with Real Madrid facing a gigantic Tax bill & Spanish lg crumbling with debt even if levy accepted a world record bid there is no quarantee that Real could meet payments. As things stand only PSG, City, Chelsea & Monaco of major European teams could we be sure of having the finances to pay. Excepting a bid from Real would be crazy if it was a straight up money deal, throw in Ozil, Coentrao & Morata then theres something to think about.

Cadena Ser now saying Soldado deal done. I can't bloody read Spanish but the headlines tell the story from what i can make out?

It is saying Roberto Soldado will leave for Tottenham through a 30 million euros deal. Valencia is about to close the sale of the frontman to the english club, with which it has yet to agree the form of payment.

LOL the payment structure is still the issue. Two payments of 15m please upfront - in other words.

Beats me why the English press want to get rid of the PL's biggest asset and send him to Spain? Why? What are they going to write about then? Its like watching mass suicide in front of your eyes. The media are f**king whores but this lot are a bunch of cretinous moronic f**king whores.

So they all jump on the bandwagon of selling Bale and further reduce the world game to the have's and have nots. I think the FFP needs to be strengthened so clubs can keep their best players. That forces the big boys to develop their own talent and not try to buy everything that moves. The CL will become another boring competition with RM, Barca, PSG, Monaco dominating for years to come. At least the PL offers some competition and a strong Spurs side is essential to that, But the UK press don't seem to give a toss.

It's not about long-term benefit for the PL as far as the journos are concerned. They can sell papers pushing for the Bale transfer. They can then sell papers bemoaning the state of English football. They can also sell papers writing "in-depth" articles about why the PL is worse than X or Y league. They dont have the good of the english game at heart at all.
