Morning all
Pinch and a punch first of the month! And we're almost at the finishing line of this epic and unforgettable transfer window. Finally. Woohoo.
Yesterday threw up a couple of surprises, the main one being that nobody translated the welcome messages, but then again when you're in a rush to post why Danny fucking Rose is or isn't good enough or what formation we'll play it's perhaps not so surprising. Can we please talk the ITK and not the stuff for which there are plenty of other threads to use?
Oh and we almost had a rebellion last night when someone tried to start an Twitter ITK thread. Lucky for you lot I was on hand and the perp has been put up against the wall and shot. His mum was duly consoled. I hit her across the head with an XBox.
I know a few of you don't bother reading the opening post of this thread, but you do. I love you, them others are ****s, but don't tell anyone, lets keep it to ourselves.
Oh and I usually post this in the last thread of the window, but nobody at all seem to bother reading that one so i'll say it now.
If you only come here for the ITK, why not stay on afterwards? We've got all sorts of fun stuff going on here at SC, there's Sportsbook, where you can gamble away your virtual cash, SCORE! our brilliant prediction contest, there's the Spurs Chat forum, our live match threads are perfect for anyone who has a fetish for posting knee jerk bollocks and a huge draw for the numpty fraternity and there's much more besides! So yeah, stay on and become a regular SC nutcase.
And finally a huge thank you to all of you who donated. We'd like to give each one of you a great big hug individually and who knows where that could lead. Probably to a charge of public indecency, after all, you only have to look at Stoof and TSH for proof of what happens when two SC'ers get together in real life. We won't go into too much detail but to this day TSH maintains the fresh whole chicken he had with him was for his sunday dinner. Stoof confirms his story, but would you believe someone who was caught stuck up the aformentioned chicken whilst wearing nothing but suspenders, fishnet stockings and a sombrero?
Todays word of the day is: Tomorrow

Jeeez........ How often does it have to be said?

This, from the top of today's OP.

Can we please talk the ITK and not the stuff for which there are plenty of other threads to use?

And the first post was what?

Nice one! Someone (me) five and a half thousand miles away laughed out loud! Oh man, word of the day ...tomorrow...sigh. This crazy, but beautiful transfer window has completely destroyed any tolerance I ever pretended to have for delayed gratification. :D

If we buy any more players by the deadline tomorrow I'll be really surprised. But it will be a pretty good bonus, although the issue of gelling so many players will get even tougher for AVB.

Maybe Halilovic is still something that can be worked on.

I've got a feeling with Luongo being sold we will loan Swindon another academy player for the season. Are there any major positions they need filling?

I'd be surprised if we don't. I think we at least can rely on the Levy deadline special (as itk's have also alluded to).

Was this the first Xbox, or the 360 or the Xbox One? Come on man I just have to know!

I expect it to be pretty quiet for the majority of the day to be honest. Maybe one or two after the NLD, but not much. Hoping for something on a LB.

Probably pretty quiet today, no special announcement. But there never is.

Wasn't Levy supposed to do some Interview thing at some point?!? Maybe he'll appear on the pitch today at half time, naked and throwing his own shit at the Arsenal Supporters. That'll be pretty special.

This is what i think (reference to the latest few ITKs that have been floating around)

Personally, i think these 3 players answer the Huge player tag, back to Plan A and Sensitivity......

Bale
Mata
Suarez

Wasn't the plan A was to keep Bale? He was promised to stay to a number of players who came in (Soldado, Paulinho etc etc)
He is a huge name in football right now. And in a way, revealing him at these last 3 weeks to stay will be a bit sensitive, considering the amount of media hoo hah out of Spain. So revealing that Bale to stay will allow Perez a dignified outlet of telling the RM followers, he did all he could but Bale had a change of heart and wanting to help Spurs to UCL qualification. This would also "show" to the world that RM is still a financial powerhouse. This would also appease the likes of CR7 that he is the "DUDE" in RM. Spurs do not want to make RM look stupid as they are partners. Anyway, with the help of RM, Bale value has increased steadily froM 50 Millions Pound Sterling to a reportedly over 90 Millions Pound Sterling. The "covert" advertisement regarding Bale and Spurs have done the club alot of good in terms of potential advertisement deals.

If we go back to the Willian issue, if he is plan B or C and Eriksen is plan D......Who is huge to be Plan A. I personally think AVB values Mata higher than Willian. He brought in Mata ahead of Willian to Chelsea right? Mata is a huge player in BPL. He has been Chelsea best player the last 2 seasons. Maybe before Anzhi "implosions" and Willian availability, Mata is the earlier choice for a bid? Right after Willian was hijacked, Spurs reportedly went straight for Mata before Eriksen. Remember Willian was available only at the last moment. The sensitivity part is Mourinho factor. He gloats about getting Willian and he does not seem to value Mata. Maybe if Spurs get Mata, the narratives out of Chelsea is that Mata is the odd player out in the new Mourinho plan. So that's why the purchase of Willian and moving on Mata. It is also sensitive as Mata is a fan favourite of Chelsea supporters. Selling him, without the "proper" narratives would turn some supporters against Mourinho and the club. Spurs willing to play along with this, coz Mata has always been the first choice and not Willian.

Suarez is definitely a huge player. Top 3 players in BPL last season. Sensitivity, coz he is a love hate figure. You do not want Suarez purchase earlier to spoil all the good work Spurs have done in the transfer market right? It is not doing Spurs any good if that happens as marketing Spurs as a positive club is almost omnipotent. He can play any 3 positions across the front 3. He was from Ajax anyway. Highly versatile. But i see, he is the unlikeliest to come to Spurs, due to his huge price tag. I think Pool would only sell him for more than 50 Millions Pound Sterling. Not very sensible in terms of business.

So i reckon, it is either Bale or Mata.

Wait, in terms of huge player and sensitivity, there are Falcao, Moutinho and James Rodriguez. Yes, they moved to Monaco but there's where the sensitivity lies. The tax free and footballing transfers issue gave Monaco a huge advantage over other rivals. This might be seen as unfair by both the French football authorities and UEFA. I don't see Moutinho as the one as he is a Midfielder.......So it leaves the other 2. Both are huge players. In business sense JR, a winger makes the better sense. He was also touted as possible transfer much much earlier (Plan A?), 2-3 months ago. And only JR answers those 3, but is he "HUGE" in the eyes of Spurs supporters?

Interesting last 2 days beckoning!!! COYS!

The only huge signing I can see come from is from a club we have been negotiating with all the transfer window. Someone from Real Madrid. We only have 2 days left to deal and we probably spoke to them many times on players they are willing to let go whether to offset Bale or as a separate deal. We probably even spoke to some of them to see if they are open to the transfer. I hope for a nice surprise on deadline day, I know baldini can work his magic, he already proved it.

Wow, Imnotacticalgenius, that's quite a theory. And we only have to wait 36 hours to know.

Would like to see us sort deals for Rodrigo, Ade and Gomes today.

Leaving tomorrow to finalise Coentrao, Bale and Benny.

We've had ITK suggesting BAE has failed two medicals this summer, that makes selling him by tomorrow very difficult.

It's a shame as, like most of us I like Benny and its a shame if he's left in a position where he doesn't feature in our plans nor can he secure a move.

So, in line with the ITK and the obvious ambition of what's happened so far, I expect a fitting finale from the Siegfried and Roy that Levy and Baldini have turned into, with possibly something pulled out of the hat at the last minute as an ironic tribute to the years Levy spent as a children's birthday party magician:

In: Coentrao,(how could he not come now that we've all learnt to spell his name?) Rodrigo.

Out, any of:Defoe, Adebayor, Sigurdsson, BAE, Lennon.

in the unlikely event that we can sell them all, go ahead, and buy an extra striker (Hernandez).

If Halilovic (and even Vadillo) is achievable now, it would be foolish not to get him in for the future.

After that they can spend the next few transfer windows sitting in a perspex box hanging next to the tower of London for all I care, their reputation will be secure for some time to come.

Edit: don't know where that emoticon came from, or how to get rid of it, but perhaps the computer knows something I don't about what Defoe's been doing to get so admirably beefed up?

Wasn't that from LLM - now a confirmed WUM (who also said Hudd would never pass a medical anywhere and that Dembele was long-term screwed)? Tbh I was a bit suspicious when they couldn't even name the club(s) he was supposedly taking the medicals at.

I think everything has been so quiet regarding both Benny and Coentrao the past few weeks because everything is set up and waiting for the Bale deal to trigger them.
