Yesterday threw up a couple of surprises, the main one being that nobody translated the welcome messages

Probably pretty quiet today, no special announcement. But there never is.

Wasn't Levy supposed to do some Interview thing at some point?!? Maybe he'll appear on the pitch today at half time, naked and throwing his own shit at the Arsenal Supporters. That'll be pretty special.

If a huge name that hasn't been mentioned is suddenly announced today that'll be quite the surprise. ITK/press/various websites have been quite good in terms of floating names long before it's concluded. Of course we can expect a Levy-Style Dempsey-like deadline day bargain, or someone from Real as part of the Bale deal, but apart from that I'd be surprised if we're bringing in another huge signing...

Of course we can expect a Levy-Style Dempsey-like deadline day bargain, or someone from Real as part of the Bale deal, but apart from that I'd be surprised if we're bringing in another huge signing...

The only thing is that players at Spanish and Portugese clubs all have buy-out clauses, so we could go a 'do a Dembele' and turn up and slap down a cash payment for someone like Muniain, Griezmann or Rodrigo.

We've had ITK suggesting BAE has failed two medicals this summer, that makes selling him by tomorrow very difficult.

It's a shame as, like most of us I like Benny and its a shame if he's left in a position where he doesn't feature in our plans nor can he secure a move.

Maybe a loan with option to buy. He can prove his fitness from now until January by playing

Not sure it's ITK but there's a reposted article on Bale thread this morning from El Pais newspaper. It's hard to read (translated Spanish) but it describes the stand off between Levy and Perez going down to the wire. Worth checking out as it's quiet.

Wasn't that from LLM - now a confirmed WUM (who also said Hudd would never pass a medical anywhere and that Dembele was long-term screwed)? Tbh I was a bit suspicious when they couldn't even name the club(s) he was supposedly taking the medicals at.

I think everything has been so quiet regarding both Benny and Coentrao the past few weeks because everything is set up and waiting for the Bale deal to trigger them.

Rob said there were too many inconsistencies in his story - that he was an ex-youth team coach now working in Scottish lower leagues, yet he knew all the intricate financial details of the Bale deal etc. I think JJ spoke warmly about him because he shared his fanatisim for Sherwood!

I think the Benny medical thing is just a myth started by him, which has spread/keeps being rehashed.

Good! I'd like to wake up on Tuesday to the news that it hasn't gone through, the player has signed a new contract with Spurs, Spurs have dissolved this partnership and reported Real Madrid with concrete evidence of tapping up.

But that is unlikely, and maybe Sky are quoting El Pais or stalling for time as the deal hasn't gone through yet and they need something to say.

Benny failed his medical in France so proving difficult to move on, and he wants to stay now. Has to improve his club discipline massively as well as attitude.
