We've improved the defence but lost all the protection!
The protection was usually sitting on the bench or not in the squad to be fair, so it hasn't been that much of a change.

I think whether we sign McCarthy or not it will not take long to see that a lot of our issues are with the midfield and our tactics and not necessarily just the defenders.

You don't think that those in charge of player transfers have thought of that?
May have thought of it but doesn't mean we'll get the necessary players in. There's been plenty of times where we've not addressed huge issues in the squad. It really wouldn't surprise me if we were to be unsuccessful with a midfielder. Striker i'm slightly more confident on.

Talking about DM's, there has been loads of noise from itks etc about how much we rate Alli and Pritchard but I haven't seen much (or anything) about Veljkovic. Is he not rated?

I think he is not sure if it's CB or DM regardless of how high his rated we still need an exp mid for the season. I am all for playing the youth but if we get a few injuries dembelr, mason, bents we would look really fragile. We need an exp mid to help the likes of Milo's, winks Onomah.

I sometimes wonder if ITKs are spurs or department lol

Dembele alone will be moving out for atleast £12m !!

£8m has been the story all weekend. Which is a fair price considering his age, form and hip problems

If Dembele goes too we will be in a pickle.

Alli, Bentaleb and Mason left as CM's and if we miss out on McCarthy which personally i'm not overly confident on then we could be in trouble.

Bentaleb and Mason were the only CMs Poch trusted beyond October. So at least we have 3 now, rather than just 2

There's Carroll, Veljkovic and Winks too

All of Paulinho, Capoue, Dembele and Stambouli were only being used as last resort. There's no point having them shirt squatting any more.

How? Mason and Bentaleb were the main pairing in front of them and they're still here. What protection did the CMs we've sold provide?
That is the problem, niether if them are a DM and give no protectionto our defence, untill this is addressed, we will continue to ship goals in like QPR....

Agree the lead up to xmas dembele was quite pivitol, then was injured and never really got given a chance.

True but we've lost nothing in the way of protecting the back 4 as the players sold rarely played

That sums up his career. A long, successful, fully fit spell is always just around the corner. Sooner or later you have to take it on the chin that the talent doesn't match the achievement.

Dembele did give teams problems when he came on I really think it will be silly to sell him for 8 million he is worth a lot more to us, he does have his faults but he Is a great outlet hardly ever looses the ball.

Sorry, but this double pivot system is shit, while MP keeps playingit, then say goodbye to top 4 or winning anything...
Oh totally, the 4-2-3-1 is crap. Which is exactly why just about every top side in every top league and all the best national sides use it.

Defoe did quite well for us and over his career has scored 128 in 380 premier league games...if only he could have overcome the drought periods.
He got attacked for losing the ball in a game.

He did some laughing gas which
nearly everyone in the country has done at one time or another.

Yes he was drink driving, which was dangerous and stupid. He has been punished for it.

Remember he is a very young man with wealth and fame thrust upon him. Give him time to grow up and learn from his mistakes. Which by all accounts he is doing.
You should have seen me at that age i was getting into fights every week and banged up. Kids are fucking idiots. But they grow up mostly.

JD had a lot of bad press with driving offences and failure to attend but his worst offence was Danielle Lloyd.
