The Lamela deal could be a good one I think. Roma have just bought Gervinho as well haven't they? Could be their replacement for Lamela perhaps?

That info is, positive in a way.

But there is not a chance we'd do another major signing like Lamela, without knowing Bale is off. So that's a bit depressing, or would be if it happens.

Bernard, like others, I'm sure he's already been holding the Shaktar shirt in a press conference (?). Again though, if we're looking at spending £20m+, surely it's to replace Bale. Edited as the Goat has deleted that bit.

I'd prefer this not to be true and keep Bale as I only see Lamela coming in (as a replacement), IF that.

Whilst he has potential to be a great player we need time for him to settle and Bale firing on all cylinders is way more use to our top 4 + chances.

It does seem like an un-Spurs like extravagance, but then again this has been an un-Spurs like transfer window.

Perhaps we know we've got a good few quid coming in for the deadwood fringe players?

even if it meant Bale was off, such news is still bloody good though no?, better than panic buying to replace him IF he were to go (i don't think we will sign lamela and that bale will stay personally)

Yet we could still do with another cb and a striker, ss well ss filling any holes left by outgoings.

I'm expecting others.

Sorry, meant to hit agree, fat fingers, iPhone and all that.
I think you're right. We have sent pretty big so far, Soldado, Paulinho, Chadli and possibly Capoue pushing us somewhere around £55-60m, with incoming's totalling around £15m?
That's a big outlay, but I'm expecting further outgoings yet, Parker, Hudd, Ekotto and possibly Ade/Defoe. I think there will be a LB if Ekotto goes, possibly another CB, and a CF if Ade/Defoe are sold.
I still wouldn't rule out Damaio, I know we have allegedly moved on, but the fact he still hasn't moved makes me think we may just go back.

Lamela would be fantastic. This window has been crazy.

If there was a bit of ITK I wanted to see this morning that was it. Really hope Lamela happens (and Vlad).

If we've got any sense, we will be lining up deals in case we get what we probably don't expect to get from Madrid. But I bet Roma would ask for cash at this stage, and a lot of it.

Have we established whether Lamela has a release clause?

I'm sure I heard that somewhere on here, but could be wrong. I've just checked that 'players with release clauses' thread and no mention on there.

But Big Joe has opened his wallet...so I reckon
Bale stays too.

Final push before ffp kicks in?

If we signed Lamela you would all be able to pin point my exact London location as there would be an mushroom cloud of spaff so big they would be diverting flights and shutting heathrow for weeks. Bale and Lamela. Blimey.

I remember cing somewhere there would still be one more premium signing before the end of the window...so fingers crossed we can agree a fee with Roma, hopefully nani is his replacement there. Baldini key obviously to making this happen.

Lamela is such a prospect. Scored 15 league goals last season from the wing at the age of 20/21.

He's a serious player who's improving very quickly.

I know what you mean but I couldn't say I agree with it being the piece of ITK I wanted to hear. That would have been Kelly Brook saying wants me to pay her a visit wearing nothing but a latex balaclava and not to forget to bring the courgette, 3 birthday candles and two sticks of juicy fruit gum.

I wouldn't bet on that. It makes a lot of sense to sign Bale's replacement this summer if we may let him leave next year as it keeps the prices low. It makes even more sense if we are willing to let Townsend leave as it would mean our wing options would be Bale, Lamela, Chadli, Lennon and Falque.

I'll send her round when I've had my fill.
