I love travel and when I go abroad I often try to go watch other teams play.

I hate when fans moan about tourists at the Spurs stadium, it's a great experience.

I'm hoping to use the thread to chat about experiences watching other teams and getting tips.

My next weekend break is in Tallinn. Nomme Utd are playing at home that weekend to FC Flora. I haven't looked into it at all. Has anyone ever been there to watch a game? I've literally just booked the trip today and didn't think about watching a game until I opened this thread.

My next possible plan is Napoli. Italy is my favourite country to visit in Europe. Love the idea of watching Napoli but no idea about it.

I do the same occasionally:

CFR Cluj vs Lazio in Cluj
Tokyo Verdy whilst I was in Tokyo

Off to Breda in November will probably try and catch a game there.

Never been to Tallinn myself.

I’ve been to see Napoli twice and enjoyed it on both occasions. (Even if we did end up standing in the aisle second time round due to seat numbers not really being a thing 😂). Highly recommend trying to pair with a Roma game if you can as Rome’s only an hour away by train.

I also love to go to games when I'm traveling. Fixtures of local teams is one of the first things I look at when I book flights.

Been to games all over. The one that stands out was a Vancouver White Caps game, when Alfonso Davies was playing. At 16 he was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch.

The Rome derby was great too

Just back from my trip to Tallinn and got to the game.

Nomme Utd were only founded in 2000 and are owned by Derby legend Mart Poom. One of my mates on the trip is a big Derby fan. There were only a few hundred at the game and tickets cost 7 Euros each.

Mart Poom was really open to chatting to people and having photos taken and spoke to my mate for ages. They lost 4-0 but he didn't mind as the whole focus of the club is developing young Estonian players.

It was like watching a non-league game but definitely a good experience.

If you are ever in Bali, the Bali United games are an insane experience. The crowd go off for the entire match.

Back in the 1970s I was working in Yemen and went to watch a football match in Sana’a. A great experience.

The Yemenis were delighted to have two foreigners at the game - they kept coming up to say welcome. The food on offer was prickly pears sold by street vendors. The pitch was dreadful - trampled earth with a sprinkling of gravel. The football was enthusiastic but not very skilled.

But above all the passion of the crowd was no different to any other game.

Been to Ajax, PSV, AC Milan and some random kids tournament in Cyprus once upon a time.

If the opportunity is there to see a football match in another land then I say do it. No experience like it.

Just getting back from a trip to Verona. I went to watch Hellas Verona va Fiorentina.

The atmosphere was really good in a stadium that’s approximately 30,000.

Both sets of fans in the goal ends singing well. Plenty of Fiorentina fans openly in the Verona part and both sets of fans happily mingled before and after the game.

€30 each and a last minute winner.

My mate went to see Servette vs Grasshoppers early Feb.
Football was shit but the Servette Ultras were quite entertaining.
