I think robbie deals with him quite handily in my humble opinion cowboy wilts under pressure and doesnt like opponents that move forward with pressure.

I'm pretty old school (unfortunately) when it comes to mma and ufc

I remember people saying that Robbie would handle Nick Diaz pretty handily before their fight too

Of course Lawler is favourite and he could overwhelm Cowboy with his ferocious power (and the fight end up looking like cowboy vs RDA)

By cowboy has the skill set to drag Robbie in to a technical fight like Condit did too and I wouldn't at all be surprised to see an epic battle like that one or like Robbie had against MacDonald

Depends which Cowboy turns up (and indeed which Lawler does)

I'm old school to mate going back to the days of Dan Severn , pedro rizzo et al I just think Robbie will have his way with him like dos Anjos did. Have to admit cowboy looks better at ww though.

Haha I used to love pedro rizzo

I was thai boxing myself at the time so he stood out to me as a thai boxer.

That ko of Josh Barnett was amazing, used to be on reply at my thai boxing club all the time along with some bootleg compilation video of elbow strike kos from Thailand

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! That was so great:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

For someone so overly confident, I wanted that so badly. Gall is 24 and fights for a living. It was always gonna happen. Punk didnt even get any kind of offense off. Straight up mauled from the on set.

Reminded me a bit of Randy Couture Vs James Toney. When it went to the ground, you just felt it was all over.

What was Overeem doing btw? Surprised he didn't try to finish him with strikes rather than go for the submission.

I half fell asleep during the cm punk fight but woke up with the replay of him tapping

Not at all unexpected and shows he really should never have been allowed in a ufc octagon

I watched "the evolution of cm punk" a day or so ago and you could see he didn't even know how to throw a punch during his training. He just looked awful, I'd expect people going to their first class having never thrown a punch before to have similar skills as he showed in that.

I completely fell asleep during the werdum fight but it sounds like it also went as expected and much like last time

Woke up just in time to see the short but exciting hw title fight. Stipe used some great boxing skills I thought and everytime he connected with overeem he seemed to shake him up

Finished him in pretty clinical fashion on the ground too

Pretty funny watching rogan ask overeen to show us this tap he clearly felt with 2 video relay angles when there was nothing like a tap to see

All i saw was the highlight reel of the Punk fight and they all seemed to involve him backing off, or flapping around trying to palm away shots, but not one of him doing anything other than tapping. I do feel for him, the look on his face was one of total realistation that he was out of his element in a big way, and he was fucking furious.

Who's trained him up for this? Not kept up with his preparation at all, but now i wonder if his personality (it is a cult, afterall) and reputation of the attitude he carries, went ahead of him and people played it a bit soft when sparring, or maybe weren't critical enough of him lest he throws a tantrum or something. I dunno, but from all the stuff i'm reading he was utterly shown up.

I wonder if he'll take it seriously now, get himself some less limelight fights and pay some of the dues in MMA that i'm sure he would talk about regularly to any green wrestler.

Extra dollars for the promotion that's why they done it. I admire Punk for living out his dream
The only thing I would criticize him for is not shaking Mickey's hand and cut a bit of a promo on him by saying he was stuttering. He had been so civil all the way through the build up, it didn't make sense to start acting like that.

UFC could have signed Bobby Lashley he was the closest thing WWE had to a Brock Lesnar. He just wasn't a big name, he is in Bellator now I think.

Yea I saw an interview with Scott Coker where he talked about Lashley (who I'd never heard of as I don't follow wwf) but apparantly he heard of him when he was coming out the the marines and tried to sign him to strike force only for him to get lured in to pro Wrestling by vince mcmahon

He's now signed him for Bellator

Apparantly no one has ever seen Lashley be taken down, even in training (so said brendan schaub)

His team is Rufusports I think, Antony Pettis is a team mate. Gall has been fighting since he was a teenager. Punk isn't even a white belt in BJJ, Obama is a blue belt.
He would've had a better chance than Punk.

He has a very good amateur wrestling pedigree, he was training for the 2004 Olympics, he got injured when a gang robbed a bank he was working in and that was the end of his Olympic hopes.

Lashley has gone back to wrestling for TNA.

Punk's fight went the way everyone except his camp knew it would go.
Fair play to him for following his heart, but he should never have been allowed to make his fight debut for UFC. He hasn't fought anyone before, he really had no idea what was coming to him.

The Weredum/Brown fight was incredibly dull.

Overeem was a big chicken, playing the run away game. Got what he deserved.
He even had the bad to claim Stipe tapped when in the guillotine. If that were the case, why release the hold of the ref didn't end the fight?!?

Must be along side fighting for Bellator because the interview I saw said he had an upcoming fight on Bellator against Josh Appelt
