If we were really serious about this guy and had our minds made up - after a long standing interest seemed to suggest, we should of tied it up closer to the start of the window - if possible of course.

Now, interest will be so hot - and of course the price has just gone up pretty considerably I would imagine = Levy no like.

Like these sorts of transfers hinge on the exploits of one game. The pessimism in this thread is ridiculous even for Spurs fans.
Not pessimism but realism fella. It's been a long time since we have pulled off a coup like this for a highly rated star....

Who'd have thought that South Korea would be able to come back from that eh?!

Don't see why interest from other clubs would go up after the Olympics. Any club with the means to purchase him at the prices being "quoted" should already know all about him...

what? I wasn't being totally serious hence the lol, but in reality it won't help our case. If things are extremely advanced or the player has firmly decided he wants to come then it shouldn't matter....but if other big Clubs have been keeping tabs on him, tonight won't have helped I would imagine. If you want to believe different be my guest.

He's also top scorer, so pipe down.

It's not just 1 game, he's been outstanding all tournament.

He's going to be a great player, but there hasn't been murmurs of anyone else in on him since the Olympics start (outside of Milan), so to think this one game will start a bidding war is ridiculous. It might pique the interest of a few other clubs but with Llorente now wanting out, they'll be looking to get him and not Leandro.

Sorry, Mr Pink but the pessimism is more prevalent over on COYS and your post just sparked my reply, as I was getting annoyed at reading post after post of 'no chance now.'

I wasn't suggesting that there would be hordes of clubs after him ... I was referring to his value increasing/Internacional moving the goalposts for the zillionth time :)

I know most jump to the most negative conclusion, I'm relaxed and would love it if we signed this kid....just merely making the point that tonight and his form in the tournament so far, peaking tonight if you like, is not necessarily a good thing for us. It could well spark some more competition for the guy, and if its a bigger fish....etc Not to mention it will of increased his value.

I think in that regard Levy would have them at a ballpark figure where they'd not be expected to bump it too much. Especially as he's been great since game one, so likely they've moved the goalposts already.

Paul O Keefe@pokeefe1
@4caribou4 @RobbieProuse @andyperry79 @llewi01 Oscar would have joined us but we set a sensible price limit. CFC made ridiculous bid

This is what we don't want to happen with Leandro.

But there's nothing we can do about it. Honestly. We have a valuation that I doubt we will go too much over and if PSG, Chelsea or City decide they want him, we are probably not in the running.

Maybe we should have went higher last summer, but this is just the Olympics and its not a guarantee of future ability in a new league and new culture.

So it's best to breathe on this one.

Remember, I freaked out over Sahin. Did me no good. So I understand the anxiety but hope you can be all "Dude Abides" about this. It's the only way to survive a linked player that you really like. :)
