Mourinho is definitely over egging the injury situation. Obviously Kane Sissoko are big misses. But we have 30 players and 3 out, he’s talking like we are down to bare bones. I’m almost convinced Parrott being left out is just a transfer leverage by Jose otherwise it really makes little sense to not be on bench.

I agree to an extent but you also need to add Ben Davies, the fact that Hugo/Lamela have just come back while Ndombele's been in and out with injury during Jose time.

Add to that a number of players in key positions not really at the require form level for selection (e.g. Rose, Wanyama) it does take its toll on selection options and the 30 man squad doesn't look all that strong.

Would definitely make sense to get him a loan providing we get a stand in striker for the run-in. The one thing he’s missing is ultimately game time. TP clearly has ability and a well rounded game but needs competitive minutes to hone his game.

We seem to be on good terms with QPR so hopefully an easy switch if the time comes.

He wont be going out on loan. Who sends a 17 year old out on loan?

Like Jose said, hes at the right place where he is at the moment.

Standard reporting he'll sign his new deal on 4th when he turns 18. Assume loan to championship club will be done around same time

we used to do it fairly regularly - kane was 17, caulker too, mason moved on his 18th birthday, carroll and townsend had just turned 18, rose 18 etc.

the youngest we allowed to go out on loan during poch's reign was edwards at 19 but then his case was a bit different to the norm. as long as they have the quality and can hack it physically and mentally(which i imagine parrott could) then i don't see a reason to be against it.

Has to be done tomorrow if he is to be loaned, no? I thought only emergency loans to cover injury crises were allowed after deadline day.

Can agree. If Tanganga can get proper game time at CB (including against Liverpool) then surely we can give Parrott, Skipp, and Cirken time as well

Though Chelsea and Arsenal have shown you can have, multiple academy players in the team at the same time, I still don't think it's going to happen as you wouldn't want to risk too many at once. In saying that all of the ones you have mentioned are capable.

If it would me I would be integrating Skipp regardless of our situaiton. He is good enough and ready. Playing two 17 year olds just won't ever happen, but Parrott is a talent, and I'd rather we play him and give him some chances coming on as a sub 2nd half rather than waste 10/15m on a striker. Any striker costing that amount nowadays is not a good striker and you're essentially paying for nothing, so you'd have nothing to lose. Cirkin can get a chance if there's a crisis, I'd definitely trust him, but he doesn't need to be rushed

I really don't understand why we aren't able to get a backup striker who isn't a lamppost, yet we are also unwilling to give Parrott minutes. Makes no sense. Give him a go. It's not like we have literally any other fit strikers ffs.

Dropping a 17 year old into things in a difficult position as a lone striker due to Verne Troyer’s inability to buy or loan a big man doesn’t necessarily seem like the best development option, but who knows maybe he takes to it like Tanganga.

Either way he needs to be playing loan or here, he’s definitely big enough

20 minute option rather
than a starter
should work.
He's young
but in the right place
at the right time.
You don't know what you've got
till you try
as Joni meant to say.

I get the he’s too young theory, but he’s about six months younger than Mason Greenwood, and it was about March last year that Greenwood started to get his chances. And I think Parrott looks more physically formed.

Having said that, if Kane were fit it would be perfect for him as he could make the odd sub appearance and maybe a cup start once he’d got a goal under his belt. But with Kane out it is difficult. If we bring in a more experienced guy for the next few months, I’d keep him around and do that with him though. If we don’t, I do think a loan is best for him. I know that sort of sounds like the wrong way round, but it works in my head.

Not going on loan according to ITK. Hope this means that Troy will be an option on the bench for the rest of the season. Would like to see him get minutes in the FA Cup replay next week.

Jose said "we have 4 forward players" in his presser today and didn't list Troy as one of them. I don't think he'll get a sniff this season tbh.
