Pretty much what I was expecting, free agents loans and spending money we get from sales

If ever there was a time for the owners to buck the trend and put their own money in to take advantage of the market it’s now. Unfortunately we know they won’t. Let’s see what other clubs do though.

Agree. There are going to be a lot of clubs struggling for funds right now to survive. If the season starts again in September then any club in a position to get access to funds might find themselves in a position to buy some quality players for a good price.

There could be some really decent options at 20/30m come on the market by some desperate clubs.

Question will be who can and will afford them.

It seems so obvious doesn’t it?

Will be interesting to see how FFP works and if this will be loosened for a period.

Most fans hate the wealthy owners but if clubs need to sell to survive then clubs with excess funds might be their route to survival.

It says other clubs like juve and ath Madrid are put off by his age and Sevilla can’t afford him. There’s also a mention of arsenal in the article.

Whilst I like him and think signing him for a year or two would be a good idea, I’m starting to think our name is being used to flush out other English clubs.

Interesting that Juve would be put off due to a player's age, hasn't seemed to be something that has overly concerned them in the past.

If the finances were right I think he'd be a great fit alongside GLC in the middle.

It’s already been said but given what has happened to this season and the implications it’ll have on this summer transfer window, getting Gedson for 18 months, GLC signed permanently and Bergwijn done in January was an excellent, excellent move.

This summer will be very difficult but it's one where Levy could flourish. The smaller teams in the league could take a huge hit financially from Covid-19 and may be forced to sell their prized assets at a much lower price. I don't believe we will spend very much at all, but I think our Chairman's phone could be very busy.

Think the Mendes connection could work really well here. I welcome the 7 Portugese we bring in on 3 yr loans with an option to buy.

I think the Mendes connection to Mourinho is a great point. Should help us do some deals we wouldn’t otherwise expect. For example I didn’t see us going for gedson at all.

The striker Vinicius at benfica looks an interesting one for example.

Freebies - Meunier, Willian, Fraser
Peanuts (sub £20m) - Muriqi, Rakitic, Eze, Edouard
Under £30m - Cakir, Hojberg?

Plenty of options and squad strengthening without needing to outlay shed loads of money.

Especially when you look at how our owner made his money, taking advantage of a financial crisis seems like it would be right up his street.
Levy was at his best operating when huge money wasn't flowing through the leagues. Look at the deals we did with West Ham, Leeds and Portsmouth plus singular deals from a host of other clubs.

In recent years Championship clubs have paid over £10m for decent but not special talent and asking for huge money for their top talents. Levy has certainly struggled more in this environment.

Have heard stories of the likes of Leicester and West Ham being in big trouble if the league doesn't start soon.

I am no economist but I believe Levy's way of running the club is frustrating at times but could be beneficial in times like this.

Question for me is what the heck we would want with Ryan Fraser. His best position is on the left wing.

Well there we have Son, Bergwijn and Sessegnon when he is finally trusted to play there some minutes. I could think of 10 other positions on the pitch where we rather need someone.

The only way it would make sense is if they could get 40ml euro for Moura & they won't.. & I wouldn't sell him for anything less.. Frasier would be decent squad player like Moura

This would be my thinking towards summer window..
GK I'd test the waters with a move for Nauer.. Bayern have a new No.1 If we could sell Lloris for20 I'd have no problem getting Nauer for 10-12 ml for couple years.. Other option would be Ben Foster on free
RB Vrsaljko has year left on contract Atl. Need to raise money 8-10ml makes sense
CB If we are going Mourinho sit deep & counter attack then Godin makes a lot of sense he'd teach Tanganga a hella lot about positioning.. Great defender.. Robin Koch & Todibo would be others I'd consider if price was right..
LB Robin Gosens Atalanta would be my first choice. Would think 18-20ml would seal it.. 2nd choice Jamal Lewis Norwich lot of potential
DM Thought long & hard about this because everyone you'd want has a 60ml price tag& We need legs in midfield & Jose really needs someone that is adjusted to PL.. I'D go Jefferson Lerma Bournemouth he's really a cheaper Ndidi & does same thing for team.. Give them Foyth but with a buy back clause & Skipp on loan for 2 years
CM Luka Modric bring him back on free to rotate with Ndombele.. We have a big problem keeping the ball he'd solve it
CF we need someone that can do everything Kane can & also play with him.. Going forward if we want to keep Harry we have to let him be our Teddy Sheringham.. Bellotti Torino is that player.. Send them Lamela & Sissoko to save outlay

Does levy still have “it” in the transfer market though? I think he needs to reprove himself personally.
