So that’s the women’s team 4th from bottom and the men’s team 5th from bottom.

I think Levy and Spurs were way too late to understand the impact the Women's team could have on the Tottenham brand.

It's relatively inexpensive to invest in the women's team - but, women's sports in general, and football specifically, is in the ascendency. Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United and Man City have all attracted world class caliber players by paying for them - Spurs could have done the same.

But the gap is too large to simply try and grow a squad organically - you need to go and get the top players.

I’ve seen it at youth level with cricket and rugby, the amount of money going into girls sport now far outweighs what boys are getting, especially sponsorship.
Sponsors were falling over themselves to sponsor our girls rugby team whereas the boys really struggled to attract anyone.
As you say it’s such a growing market for such a small outlay in terms of wages and transfer fees, the club should have seen this in the 21/22 season and jumped on it.
Yes, this is a levy bash because for someone who is so good from a business perspective he royally missed an opportunity.

Indeed. I do wonder though if there's a ceiling the team has met which is difficult to penetrate. We've done a lot of signings past two years, and I like them all, rate most players to be honest. But whenever we sign anyone I get the feeling we're just signing another of the same level as what we already got. Rarely signing someone significantly better, Clinton was the exception, but of course loan and it didn't look like we pushed much to land something permanent.

I can't tell you who our best player is, they are just equal. Beth England maybe on different level, but there's a reason why Chelsea moved on from her.

Also it seemed we've been soft for a very long time ever since Ahtinen lost her place in the team and broke up a duo of two hard working midfielders.

Finished the season second bottom, wow.
I went to the opening game of the season v Palace, same weekend the men beat Brentford, and was wondering after that win whether Palace were just terrible or the team was going to manage to go up a level and compete in a meaningful way.

Guess that question's been answered emphatically.

But I also look at that lineup and think these are all talented players despite probably not being top three quality, so what the hell is going wrong?

That team needs some investment. We're nowhere close to being competitive

Shame to hear about Ella Morris' injury. She was one of the few bright spots from.last season.

The frequency of ACL injuries in the women's game has to be a concern

Shakeups everywhere

I don't think it's surprising given where we finished in the league. No idea who candidates would be to replace him.

I do wonder, though, what the set up is for things like scouting and recruitment, that would give a manager the best chance for success. Also - interesting to see where the new CEO goes with plans for the women's team.
