He's not necessarily wrong but he doesn't mention the training ground deal that went through last week which should improve our facilities for the women's team. Obviously more a long terms impact though.

I don’t disagree with some if what he says but I also think it’s harder in the women’s game to attract top talent if you’re not one of those teams. There’s a much clearer divide in the league than the PL for example. Similar teams may always finish at the top but there is more unpredictably. We could try and break the transfer record, offer players crazy money but the odds of them coming to Spurs is pretty low right now and it’s getting harder with the likes of Chelsea upping their spending.

They are supposed to be getting a director of football though which could hopefully help with transfers and scouting as it’s painfully obvious most of the scouting is Robert right now and that’s not his job, which he’s even said himself.

He does mention the new centre of excellence at the end.

Post Euros triumph I was excited for the women's game and watched a lot of Spurs matches. They have definitely improved but recently seem to have stagnated as the top 4 consolidated their accumulation of all the best players.

Spurs signed better players but the elite always end up at those top 4 clubs who are in a pretty impregnable position currently. This, I feel, makes the women's game a tad boring to outsiders unless you're a fan of one of those four teams.

Our results against the top 4 are eyeopening (it's as if the men's team played at Anfield every week - played 54, won two, drawn six, lost 46) and it means I spend less time than ever watching the women's team knowing what the likely outcome will be.

Pretty disastrous result today. Arsenal are good but these bad results against the better teams are getting to be a real problem.

I disagree that the women's game is so established that the best players would choose Chelsea and Arsenal over us if we offered more money. If we were willing to fund them to become the best in the world, we wouldn't have a problem attracting the best players.

It's all about funding, as with everything else.

Was woeful today - the passing, or tying to out of the back was insanity. It killed any confidence they might have had to start with.

Yeah not good at all. So many who keep getting picked and I have no idea why. No composure and too many instances of trying to do too much. When you're under as much pressure as we were and had so little of the ball, I have no idea why they're trying fancy flicks when surrounded by Arsenal players. Just suicidal.

uhh...what?
As near as I can tell, Chelsea lost 2 keepers - one to injury, one to pregnancy - thus needed a keeper.

Spencer was a former keeper for Chelsea, so they knew her, and she them - and probably made sense as a short-term move.

And, didn't we just bring in a keeper in January? I assume she might be more of a long-term answer to the position.

Spencer has 1 more year on her deal, so I expect she will be back at the end of the season.

ETA - but there are obviously a few people here who follow the team closer than I do, and might have a better answer.

Beaten again. In 15 games they have 17 points, 5 wins &a draw against teams below them. Only one point against the 6 teams above them.
Considering the state of the two main sides you do have to wonder if the powers that be ever look at the tables and results and wonder if perhaps just perhaps they might not be doing a great job

Watched from 50 mins on, couldn’t believe the number of times we tried to pass to a teammate but it was either intercepted or the teammate was beaten to it by the opposition.
There also didn’t seem to be any hurry to get the ball forward until the 90 min mark, numerous times we were stroking it about in our own half

What's happened since January? Looking at the results, I think we've scored 2 goals in the league and barely managed a point.
