Felt like such a comfortable final for Sinner. Never really looked in danger and even when he lost his serve in the 3rd he just raised his level a little and broke him twice to take it.

Shame we couldn’t get a bigger spectacle for a final.

When Sinner is playing well he really is very good indeed, and just a better player than Fritz.

Alcaraz has some work to do.

I'm wondering how Djokovic is feeling about the future, too. Even with the Olympic success he can't just turn up for the big tournaments now and win them without being match fit.

Always felt Sinner could step up a gear in the game
Steady tennis
Nice to see him and Seal together at the end

I'm not one for hyperbole, but the match happening right now - set all between Sinner and Alcaraz - has to be some of the best tennis I've ever seen. If you're near a Sky tele, treat yourself.

Holy shit, literally just watching live and seeing Tiafoe coming up short, at the end instead of shaking the umpire's hand it was just a barrage of "fuck you, fuck you, fuck you man!". Never seen such an aggressive response to the umpire before. No idea what happened!

Deciding set, tie breaker, 5-5 and gets called for a time violation while tossing the ball.

Lost the point and the following one to lose the match

And the reaction for those who haven't seen it

Cheers for that. Not the right reaction at all irrespective of the decisions against him. He also just threw the ball up without any intention of hitting it so he knew what he was doing. I think the tennis federation and umpires in general as a collective have only themselves to blame though as the rule to serve in time isn't consistent with the way it's enforced, even with the countdown clock in the background. Some are reluctant to call it and others aren't.

Zverev was an asshole in his match too, very rude to the umpire who he claimed got a double bounce decision wrong when actually replay's showed he was correct. Made him look like even more of an idiot as he continued to argue.

Maybe more suited to another thread, but Medvedev has just lost in straight sets to Sinner in the "6 Kings" exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia, so he can now head home with $1.5 million dollars in his pocket. That's just not right.

Also all that money in the event and they couldn't get a decent camera angle for the matches. Even the scoreboard looks cheap and nasty. Maybe I'm too fussy 😅

The race to get into the finals in Turin is fascinating because everybody 7th and down is totally off form.

Ruud couldn't beat any top 50 player to save his life right now, he's playing dreadfully. Rublev is completely off it as well, De Minaur is returning from injury, and the rest have been pretty meh.

Draper / Fritz match is on before the Spurs match. Was not expecting that blonde hair from Fritz

Am I only one who finds Humbert incredibly annoying? Don't really like the raised fist in the air after almost every point won, and to do it when the opponent had to concede a point midway through it due to injury was tasteless.

Ruud all of a sudden with his best match since Roland Garros to beat Alcaraz. Superb match from him but Alcaraz also made a whole heap of unforced errors. Uncharacteristically poor.
