Well played Alcaraz. The last few games weren't good for the nerves though!

Fair play to Alcaraz getting it together in the tie break after losing 3 championship points. And other than that, I don't remember seeing Djokovic get outplayed like that on grass.

I think the guard has most definitely changed.

Didn't think Djokovic looked particularly mobile. Not by his normal standards, that's not to take anything away from Alcaraz though, who was excellent. Some of those shots were awesome.

Watching the Olympic tennis (on Eurosport 3).

Men’s doubles on clay and a great matchup between two great clay court singles players and the 6th seed doubles players.

Alcaraz & Nadal look a hell of a team on paper but doubles is a whole different beast. Loving the contrast in styles

Novak finally gets his gold medal and thoroughly deserved.

He’s truly won everything there is to win.

And what an amazing match it was, the best of the year IMO. Very important as well that it was against Carlitos, massive statement on his part after that Wimbledon final.

Incredible, incredible, incredible performance by Dan Evans, 0-4 (15-40) down in the fifth set against the 23rd seed and somehow pulls back six straight games to take the win.

Longest ever match at the US Open. Take a bow Danny boy, what a comeback :woot:

Just seen Alcaraz lost in straight sets overnight :wideyed:

Gives Draper a much better chance at making the 2nd week now

Feels a bit like the gruelling summer caught up with Alcaraz last night, it doesn't take much of a drop off from 100% before those sorts of games become very difficult.

Have to admit I'm loving this US Open and some of these upcoming match-ups. Kind of glad Alcaraz and Djokovic aren't in the picture, makes it a little bit more interesting.

Draper has looked very comfortable so far making his way to the quarters for the first time but for some reason I still don't see him beating De Minaur. Not sure what it is as I really like Draper but he's not quite at that top top level yet.

Two good matchups tonight. Fritz has looked decent but still fancy Zverev to have the edge. But I've got no idea how the other QF is going to go. Both Dimitrov & Tiafoe can hit high levels but equally both can throw in a few errors when the pressure is on. Going to be such a 'vibes' game, esp under the lights. think the crowd may lift Tiafoe over the line but Dimitrov is far more consistent lately than he has been over the last few years.

Yeah I know what you mean. There is still a slight erratic nature to his game in general, but he’s just happened to really minimise that so far and that elevates his game quite a bit. I agree though, De Minaur is a horrible player to play against. You feel like Draper will just have to hit through him, because he won’t outlast him.

Yeah they are both really exciting. A bit of tension in the Fritz v Zverev one also because of the comments from Fritz’s girlfriend towards Zverev and the accusations against him. Dimitrov and Tiafoe has the potential to be really good also. Absolutely loving watching Dimitrov play at the level that he has in the last year or so. One of those players who just seems to be able to hit through the court with relative ease.

Zverev taking control of this one. Love how he’s mixing up the pace on the ball just rolling the odd one over the net forcing Fritz to generate his own pace.

So much extra respect when players use their heads to work out how to get on top of other players rather than just trying to hit it harder.
