So angry right now, Daniel’s ‘denial’ smacks of someone who can’t see the simple truths right in front of them.

Too much up his own backside to change, no good now and we are crazy to think he will change in the future.

No joke, I’m devastated
Sorry to read of your unbelievably shit experience this summer. All I'd say is that in the medium and long-term, you'll realise that you absolutely missed a bullet by her leaving. I'm sure it'll hurt now and for a little while yet, but can you imagine having a lifetime of her causing carnage in your relationship with each other and with friends and family. As someone wrote earlier, it'd be worse if you had kids already too.

Anyway, keep your chin up. It'll get better.

Levy can still go fuck himself with his dwarf cock though.

I'm personally shocked that we didn't sign anyone, but its worth keeping in mind the following. Poch has a particular philosophy about how to foster a team spirit. As a result, he's not going to want someone coming in making more than everyone than Kane and guaranteed a spotting start, fearing it would upset the rest of the team. As a result, its always going to be hard for us to move for established stars; its much easier for us to pursue the younger, less expensive, hungry, haven't quite made it yet set of the world, or those who have been playing for a fair amount of time but are willing to accept a backup role (Vorm, Llorente, etc.). The reality is that there probably aren't a ton of world class players who are going to knocking down the doors to come here given that. All that said, even if its hard for us to get players to strengthen the first 11, we absolutely need to make sure that we have depth or risk running out of gas - particularly in a year after the World Cup. I'm disappointed that we didn't do more on that front.

All that said, if (and its a big if) Toby and Poch really have patched things up and his head is on right for this year, we're starting this year with excellent players who were expected to leave (Toby, Dembele) and who we likely could not have improved upon *for this year* by bringing in new signings. It's risky to stand pat, but as we've seen time and again with Poch, its rare for someone to be integrated into the starting team in the first 6 months anyways (as Lucas demonstrates). So whether or not this creates problems down the road, its not at all obvious that we aren't stronger in the short term by holding on to good players who Poch and the rest of the team already trusts and knows how to play with.

“It’s difficult to understand for people that Tottenham didn’t sign or sell a player, but sometimes in football you need to behave differently and we’re happy with our squad.”

“If we cannot improve our squad it’s better to keep it together. We believe in our squad”.

Go on, tell me he's just towing the line. Disagree with me for all I care. Call me a fucking happy clapper.

Sure it's not ideal that we haven't signed anyone.

With the apoplectic reaction on here and around social media, it's actually beyond belief that some of you actually take enjoyment from Spurs. The hatred and vitriol towards Levy and the Club is frightening and quite frankly some of it is disgusting.

Given Poch is perfectly happy with no player additions and the same squad as per last May it would be good if he could re-visit the comments below that he said then and tell us WTF he was on about

“You need to be brave,” said Pochettino. “In this type of situation being brave is important and you need to take risks. It is the moment in which the club needs to take risks.

“We need to talk a lot with the club. I have a very clear idea of what we need to do. I don’t know if the club will agree with me or not but we are going to talk to create the new project or what I think we need to do together again to try and improve.”

If Levy offloads any of Toby, Rose and/or Dembele to any European clubs then Lewis should return the favour and dismiss him on the eve of moving into our new stadium.

The best we can hope for now is we keep the players we have, patch things up with Toby and look forward to the season ahead.

Our squad is bloody good and I know losing Wanyama again is a ball ache but with Moura looking really impressive in preseason the option to drop Eriksen deeper, we’re still well equipped to have a successful season. I know the likes of Liverpool and Everton have spent a fortune but bedding that many players? Yh good luck with that. My only concern is our horrific preseason preparation. For none of our elite players to play a single game is scandalous. A lot of the other WC players have played 1 or 2. Our prep going into the Newcastle game is nothing but amateurish and I fear a negative result if our stars aren’t fit enough to be involved.

Eh how many times, Lewis is Levy’s father in law. Levy is going nowhere unfortunately until ENIC cash us in.

The thing is this debacle doesn't end on this day at all. This window will brought into the spotlight again every time we fail in the season which in effect might not be good for the team because it means the question of whether the set of players we currently have is enough will be one that may be asked time after time throughout, which just isn't needed.

Still, I feel you can't criticise those for voicing their annoyance. To make no signings of any nature in the whole summer is something I just wouldn't have even thought possible with us if I'm completely honest.

The supporters trust have put out a statement

http://www.thstofficial.com/thst-news/thst-comment-on-transfer-window

“We have much to be proud of at Spurs. Nine of our players featured in the World Cup semi-finals. Over the last few years, a manager we revere has forged an exciting team that has challenged for top honours. And more fans than the Club cares to acknowledge recognise the challenges and achievements of running a sustainable business and building a top class stadium.

But fans come to watch the team. A team that will start the season with many of its key members still tired after the World Cup. And a squad that most rational observers would agree could benefit from more depth. It is not unreasonable to question if it was really the case that, alone among Europe’s top clubs, Spurs could find no player who would improve their squad while our rivals strengthened theirs.

Earlier this year, the Club objected to THST’s criticism of steep ticket price rises. It told us we could not expect players to be signed or wages to be competitive while we opposed those ticket price rises. Fans have paid the prices asked. And yet no signings have been made.

We know that gate receipts are no longer as fundamental as they once were for financing transfer fees or wages. But ticketing income at Spurs is now higher than it has ever been. We are curious as to what that money has been used for. We have been told the stadium build will not affect transfer spending.

We are told that we don’t have to sign players because we develop our youth. Yet four of our most promising prospects left the Club this summer. Of the current first team squad, just two regulars have come up through the ranks.

We love what has been developed, but for all the great football we’ve seen over the last few seasons, there are no trophies to show.

We have the highest paid Chairman in the Premier League. Our fans pay some of the highest prices in world football. Our support for our team and our admiration for what has been achieved remains strong. However, we believe fans are entitled to a full and credible explanation of what has happened this summer.”

Get the frustration and the questions are fair and valid, but i wonder if this isnt going to get jumped on by the media and used to fuel an already unhelpful and divisive (and arguably incorrect) narrative that the club is falling in disarray, which Poch doesn't agree with at least publically. This feels perhaps poorly timed as a public statement albeit very valid questions.

Maybe better for the dirty laundry to be more privately aired once the dust has settled and the press aren't looking to feed on just this kind of statement, valid as the points made may be.

Concern would be that the press create a divisive narrative that affects the players going in to the first week of the season. They will have their own views on the window and may or may not agree with Poch statement and views, we just don't need the press driving that agenda and we don't need the press being given ammunition to fuel that.

I think we need someone else to do the deals, Levy can give a budget.

It will be interesting to see how he defends being the huggets paus chairman and doing nothing in the transfer window.

No sorry. I am one of Levy’s biggest defenders, but please let’s not pretend all is well and the fans are being unreasonable. This window HAS been a failure and anyone with common sense knows Poch is being diplomatic. His earlier comments before and during the window made it clear he really wanted to strengthen. Celebrating the fact that we didn’t sell anyone is the biggest attempt to polish a turd I’ve ever seen. No new players means Levy didn’t back his manager this year with investment in the squad. That’s not open for debate. It’s fact.

He can’t do it. He can’t step away. Must be the worst delegator in football.

But whatever dealings we'd do would be under the spotlight. If we sold a key player and got worse people would bring that up after every loss. If we got a big name but they weren't delivering that would also become headline news.

Bringing up the window will be fair this season if we underperform, but when we splashed on The Beatles that was also a thing. Can't really be avoided.

It's not fact though is it because none of us know exactly what he's gone on. Unless you've got inside information then it's a different story.

Sadly he seems to think he knows a player better than the manager.

Who in their right mind buys Sissoko for £30m. My Geordie mate could of given him a pretty accurate scouting report. He didn't stop laughing every time I saw him for a good few months after.
