Disappointing Tanganga didnt get a championship loan, Hopefully weve got a top european league loan in sight. A league one loan would be pathetic.
Personally I think a top end League 1 loan is better than most Championship loans.

Just my opinion but the level actually isn't too bad there at the top.

Whilst I disagree with what you're saying, still a great post mate.

I think this whole "Poch type" is a case of coming to a conclusion first and working backwards to find the evidence that fits.
e.g. if Poch only likes players that are risk adverse, then he wouldn't be playing Alli, Son and Lamela.......let alone Foyth.

If he didn't like players that could beat a man with Skill and play risky passes from CM, (your Onomah/Maghoma example), we wouldn't have just broke our transfer record for a player who'd strengths are exactly that and Poch wouldn't be wishing he could have coached Dembele when he was 21 as he would already have the perfect player.

Apples and oranges. Poch doesn't mind using that kind of player once they have proven themselves in top flight mens football.

The Under-16s are in Riga, Latvia for a pre-season tournament. They beat an unknown opposition 4-1 this morning, with Dante Cassanova scoring 2 and assisting 1. I would’ve assumed this was the Riga Cup, but I can’t find a record of it anywhere.

our U16 are in Latvia for LFF independence cup which we were champion last year.

We are in the same group with Master Saturn, Latvia B and Valerenga. We beat Varelenga 4-1 from Cassanova (2), Chidi, Swederg. Then we drew 0-0 against Latvia B

Our squad

1Adam Hayton
2.Max Mcknight
3Max Hudson
4.Kaalon Haysman
5.Brandon Bryan - Waugh
6Axel Piesold
7Hakeen Sanoah
8 Shannon Brown
9 Jediah Bombo
10Dante Cassanova
11Renaldo Torraj
12Mark Chidi
13Luca Gunter
14Rio Kyerematen
15Shaun Senkubuge
16Williot Swederg

Cassanova seems to score a lot of goals is he a classic 9 or AM/winger ? Or to young to say ?
He is primarily a central-midfielder, but is also competent in a holding and attacking- midfield role and on both wings. He is definitely a player to look out for and is one of the Under-16s who look nailed on for a scholarship.

Six new names for me in that squad: Hakeen Sanoah, Mark Chidi, Rio Kyerematen, Shaun Senkubuge, Williot Swederg and Reece Stringer. Does anyone have any information on these players?

The squad looks to be made up of primarily Under-15s with most of the well-known Under-16s (Maguire, Hackett, Watt, Okoh, Scarlett) absent. So could this mean it is an Under-16 B-team? I didn’t mention Mathurin in that list as he is currently on holiday in his home country of St. Lucia.

Looking at the Riga U16 squad what stands out for me is that Ben Watt, Jordan Hackett & Dane Scarlett our England capped players are not there. Are they with the Spurs U18 squad or with an England U16 squad. Alternatively are they injured or worse case scenario they have left the club? Other missing are Aaron Maguire (Eire U15 GK), Alfie Dorrington (CB), Roshaun Mathurin (W) and Tom Bloxham(MF) all U16 regulars. Indeed looking at the squad i would suggest that as many of 7 of them are trialists including 3 or 4 from outside the UK. Perhaps some of the more knowledgeable contributors can clarify this for me.

Based on one conversation on twitter I’m expecting big things of Max Robson lol. But seriously he does sound an exciting prospect. Do we know much about Carrington with his 100m pedigree hoping he can be the elusive speedy winger to break through. Crazy to think just a year ago Parrott was one of these kids now he’s on the verge of being our main back up striker.

Is Bryan Waugh highly rated ? Only name I’ve heard before on that list.

Question for the avid youth watchers who either have connections with the club or manage to attend the games...

Of the new intake, who are considered to be the biggest prospects?

dermi lusala(rb) and nile john(cm) both regularly start for a competitive england age group so probably them. marqes muir, michael craig and max robson have also been well thought of at one point or another as well so are also ones to look out for but really these things can quickly change, there always seems to be at least one from each new intake who isn't talked about as much but then they go on to be one of the better players.

I wouldn't say any of them have the kind of hype around them that, say, Binks or Bennett had. Its a solid group with some very good players and I've always been a huge fan of Max Robson. He just reminds me so much of HK.

Hakeen Sanoah is most likely Hakeem Sandah a winger who's been at the club for a while now. Rio Kymeretan has alos been at the club for a while. He was playing u14s with us, but I didnt see or hear anything of him last year so assumed he had left. Shaun Senkubuge has been here for at least a year. The other 3 assuming they're spelled correctly, which I am as I can't figure out who else they might be, I think are all new as I haven't heard of em.

Yes, he is a winger. I haven't seen anything of him that makes me think wow, but he's been kept on. Though saying that we don't have a massive intake so we need numbers anyway. Mundle has caught my eye slightly more than Carrington and I'm relatively surprised he was kept on, but it could be because he is/was so small and so if he's got this far as a winger being that small there's chance he will get a lot better as he grows.

I don't know why he hasn't, but John should have a lot more hype around him than Bennett and BInks. Most likely as people haven't had the opportunity to watch him play but he is the standout, of this age group. He moves like silk, and can score goals. He is a regular starter for England in an attack that contains Bellingham, Musiala, Diallo, Barry, Dembele and Iling. The age group also has Elliot but he plays up a year. I know many don't know who they are part from possibly Dembele, but they are all highly rated, particularly Bellingham who is the star and Barry who just got signed by Barcelona. Not to take away from the others, as I wouldn't have named them but you'll possibly be hearing of those two soon. More so Bellingham as he's at Birmingham so he will be getting chances before long, and everyone will be saying we should sign him. So for John to be in a regular front free LW or CAM says a lot about him.

RE: Austin/Whiteman. I think the reason everyone rates Austin so much higher is that noone has seen Whiteman play fro 3 years. He doesn't play academy games anymore. When he was an u18 I really liked him and Austin was the understudy. But as Whiteman went into purgatory, Austin played more and showed himself to be a very good keeper. I've always liked Austin since I've seen him but I struggle to say he is better than someone I haven't seen for time. I guess the question is, if he sees them at close waters as everyone says, why do Poch and Jimenez keep Whiteman so close to the first team and not Austin. Not that it particularly benefits them as we've seen plenty of times before

If you have read the book "no hunger in paradise" there is a piece on Bellingham in that and how Birmingham are trying to keep the flock of agents away from him!

Well it seems there’s quite a few with potential. The more I get into the youth set up the more interesting it becomes. Big chances for some of these with Euro 2020 next summer and likely a lot of free slots on summer tour.

He hasn’t kicked a ball in competitive football. Lots of lads have caught the eye in preseason only to end up playing non-league football. A season in League One would do him the world of good and is probably the right level for him at the moment. Kane, Mason, Townsend all cut their teeth at that level. The shame is he didn’t go out on loan sooner.
