burnett still managing the u23s then ...

mason's role is a little strange i think, maybe doesn't feel confident enough to take on a more full time position just yet. i did notice at the last u18s game i went to that he wasn't particularly vocal and preferred to have little chats with the players whilst mcdermott was the one doing all the instructing/shouting, not saying you necessarily have to be loud to be a coach but it is kind of expected.
I remember Dier saying that when he was at Sporting Lisbon the coach did not shout at all,but left them to try and work things out themselves.

Not really. We released Duncan and he signed with QPR. Decent amount of ex-spurs end up at QPR. Oteh, Hall, Luongo are the three that come to mind at the moment.

Just noticed that former Academy graduate, Dominic Ball, has joined QPR on a 2-year deal. He joined Rotherham after leaving Spurs but has been on loan at Aberdeen for the past two seasons.

I’ve got a feeling Skipp may be dropped back down to U23. Pochettino has done it before. He was with seniors for 6 months you’d think if he’s not in white socks now the decision was not made for senior squad.

Think this pre-season will be the making of Skipp. His performance in the last game of the season against Everton showed that he felt more at ease with his teammates and the pressure of mens football. I hope we avoid getting Ceballos, only to allow Skipp the chance to feature for us. Having Ndombele, Winks, Sissoko, Skipp, Lo Celso (hopefully)and Dier would be a good mix of CMs/DMs in a 3 man midfield. Crazy to think that he's still on 18 and has a wonderful array of experienced CM's to learn from and train with. Wouldn't surprise me if we announce a contract extension for Skipp before they team travels out to Singapore.

IMO, that midfield lacks creative depth. It looks like with Eriksen leaving we will divide the creative burden (since the players we are linked with don't come close to Eriksen's key pass and assist stats) but with that midfield, we would just need either Lo Celso or Ndombele to be out for a while and we would struggle.

I would prefer a CM 6 of Lo Celso, Cebellos, Ndombele, Sissoko, Winks and Skipp with Dier being a CB option.

Personally, I think all of those players are competent in defence and we wont require a pure DM anymore.

Also, I think Cebellos would be a great option to bring in as he can play the 8/10 hybrid role, the 8/6 hybrid role and although to a lesser extent, the 6 (Winks's role) too.

Hmmmmmm - when you put it like that - would you set them up like below? ( having an A & B squad )

(A)
GLC ---- TND
----- Winks-----

(B)
DC ----- MS
----- Skipp---

Yeah, spot on for 7 times out of 10 but with DC able to fill any role and Skipp also able to fill the TN/MS role depending on what we need tactically.
