Have to admit that I'm a little concerned about the club's relationship with our younger players. When Kenny McEvoy bad mouthed the club after leaving saying that he was glad to be out I could just dismiss it as sour grapes, immaturity and spoiled young professional syndrome but when you've got Pritchard saying it as well I start to worry. I can't remember anyone specifically making similar comments before those two but there's something rattling around in the back of my mind that there might have been. I know we don't play as much attention to other clubs politics but their ex-players don't seem to leave on such bad terms. I am not someone who looks for problems with our club, I generally defend it to the hilt but I can't help but feel there's more to it than just a couple of ingrates venting.

And on the other hand, ignoring integral players such as Kane, you have players like mason and Carroll and formerly Townsend who aren't starters or deemed particularly important but will do all they can to fight for their place and for their club rather than wanting to go elsewhere.

Reading his comments it doesn't seem like it was because how he was treated per se, but more because he didn't get a chance with the first team. It's become pretty obvious that Poch gives players their chance in training, and if they impress they'll be in and around the first team. Maybe pritch thought he warranted a chance to play, but Poch didn't see him as a fit when he saw him train?

It's odd though as Pritchard started the season clearly in Poch's plans before he was injured. Reckon that injury is a pivotal moment in his career. Perhaps he was lazy during rehab for the injury or came back just not the same player. Shame as he seemed a good prospect but competition in the AM role is pretty fierce

McEvoy get released by York City though. I think everyone should be ambitious, but sometimes the club should be realistic. As long as we keep promoting youngsters then I am happy!

Exactly. I'm very happy with the mentality of 'you're not just going to be given a chance, you have to earn it', as long as those do warrant a chance actually get one and not just 5 mins in the cup.

I'm not making any comment on the ability or potential of young players or their sense of entitlement, merely that I don't see kids leaving Chelski, the Gooners, Liverpool, United, Man City.etc bad mouthing the club when they depart. Maybe we just don't hear about it I don't know. What I do know is that I don't like it when someone formally part of the Spurs family leaves and immediately slags us off. I constantly see former Gooners wishing their club well, cheering them on and still on very good terms. It might not be a big thing but I would prefer it if players left us with fondness in their heart and gratitude, even if they didn't get the chances they hoped for.

I don't think the Pritchard comments are as bad as you're making out tbh. And Townsend was recently absolutely glowing about us when he left.

Some players just have to accept their level, I love Spurs doesn't mean I have any right whatsoever to be on the pitch, If they don't impress Poch then there is always the door, they are footballers and will make good money come what may.

When a player becomes too good for us or thinks they are too good like Bale or Modric they leave as soon as they can. Football is all about matching the ambition and ability of the club with the ambition and ability of the player. It nice when that happens and the player loves the club as well like Kane.

This season the likes of Onomah, Edwards, Winks and Carter-Vickers will get the chance to stake their claim.

I know he's not one of our youth players anymore, but grant ward has scored two goals in 15 minutes since coming on at half time for his debut at Ipswich. Pleased for the lad, hope he becomes a superstar for them
