well yeah thats where a good manager with a serious eye for a player comes into equation. i hope we do get lucky either way. once chelsea and city finsish signing who they want we might nick a good ' un who is hungry for top.

id believe it . ferguson keeps doing it , signing players so rivals dont get them. he has been saying this for years publically about signing players before ideally he really wanted to.. rooney, jones,smalling, powell just come to mind but thats whay im so pissed off at oscar deal.. we have some sort of link up with inter and i know his transfer with sao paolo was only sorted recently but we should never have let this deal slip thru our hands. everyone knew modric was for door this summer and i would argue even if we got champions league but we should have wrapped up a deal in spring if not very early summer for that lad.

anyway chelsea still need striker as well i think if rumours anything to go by so i can sure understand if those in power at spurs have locked down. it should be a lesson learned.

Surely it may be also be a case of AVB having targets during his time with Chelsea that they have therefore retained knowledge of, and are kind of enacting his proposed changes without him - as chances are Di Matteo has bugger all to do with recruitment? In which case lets hope AVB kept some of his ideas to himself..

The journalist itk guy was saying last window that levy was dead set on getting pato in. said it was his mission or something along them lines. Good player but is injured alot.
