Just saying your suggestion might be plausible is all.
I really hope so, but I can't help wanting to add a rainbow smiley to any such posts.

And we really need to sell defoe and cash in on his current status before people suss it.

So, we were about £5m down before Modric went for, let's say £30m upfront. We now have +£25m to add to that £25m.
What do you reckon we can do with £50m this week?
£15m Willian
£8m Aubyemanghangnang
£12m Lloris
£15m Dembele
Parcel up the cash and see who says yes and who says no...

Add Dawson and Gomes (maybe even Defoe) fees to that war chest and maybe Levy will bag us Leandro Damiao after all ;)

LD imho will not happen, and (personal opinion) shouldn't, we should just walk away.

so, Isco or Llorente if both were to say yes and we could afford one (not both)? Me? I'd love to get both tbh but, as a choice, I Think Llorente.

If I were in charge I'd not sign either, just put all that cash towards Falcao. Alas, I am not in charge.. :)

I think Damiao could be great for us, but I would be very happy with Llorente as well. Isco also looks really promising.

You know Athletico paid 40 million euros for Falcao just last year and then he went on to score 39 goals in 52 appearances, right? Falcao is never happening, unless Harry comes back ten years from now and we try to sign him on a free in 2022.

Yes of course, but you have to consider Atléticos huge financial troubles. Rumours are they haven't even paid half his transfer fee yet.

I watched almost all of Atlético Madrids games last year by the way. :)

I doubt we would go for Remy, we need a player who can play against teams with 10 defenders and fuck shit up, IMO thats isco, his short range passing is very good and he runs through defenders like gravy on a sunday lunch:cool:

You haven't seen my gravy.

I think that given the nature of our matches (nearly dominant possession wise every game) he would pick up the ball in more threatening areas.

It's a side to him that needs improving but he's only need to score a few to improve on lukas total

Fairly clear from the games we've played that we will continue to press and play a higher line. That can make the midfield area quite compact and congested. That is where a player like Dembele is absolute gold because he is able to work in tight spaces and go past a player or two into some space. We are missing that dynamic without Luka and whilst nobody claims that Dembele is as creative as Luka he is still a good spark to have in a packed midfield whilst adding a better defensive strength than Luka had (important if we will have Vertonghen breaking out from defence to begin the transition in play).

why are we all ignoring vdv and siggy? ok there are rumours that raf could be off but siggy was signed for a reason.

I don't think anyone is ignoring VDV and Siggy. It was pretty clear when VDV went off at the weekend that we lost a lot of our creativity. Bale was twice the player when out on the left in the first half and VDV was finding him with some beautiful passes. He just knows how to release players, he sees things before others do and has the technical ability to pull it off. He's missed a fair bit of preseason though and probably still isn't fully fit.

Siggy came on and is a different proposition to VDV. His technique and ability to unlock the game isn't close to the level of VDV but he has excellent instinctive movements off the ball and gets into great areas to be a threat. He's more likely to be a player we use bursting out of midfield when we eventually move to a 3 man midfield and he'll make positive movements into attacking areas. He has a beautiful cross on him too.

Whilst both are going to be essential to us this season I can see the desire for more technical ability in one or two positions. Obviously we'd love a creative spark in midfield (this isn't Siggy, could be VDV but I imagine we'll want him in more threatening areas up the pitch). Would also be great to have a player as a right forward who offers a different type of option to Lennon.

The more talented players the better.

Doubt that'll be the spend if there isn't a 'top' striker involved. Dembele, Lloris and Aubameyang at those prices sound about right with Defoe probably heading out the door to keep us in positive territory. I have a preference for Isco over Aubameyang and plenty of others over Willian (he's worth no more than 10m in my book) but considering we need striker cover I don't see it happeneing that way unfortunately. I can also see us banking some more on Dawson heading off and Carvalho coming in.

The wildcards are VDV and GDS... a GDS or VDV departure might just open up the Isco angle.

Anyone else getting that feeling that, even if it's not made official on the OS, that we will have some sort of confirmation of an incoming player today? Just seems like things are starting to roll in that direction with a flood of ITK coming through.

I hope so, but JJ says it's 'doubtful.' Then again, didn't he cool talk of Lloris and M'vila? Lloris definitely seems all systems go. Maybe he just can't be sure personally.

Plus it's hardly like we have much time. I'm sure Levy is as keen to close deals as we are to see them come through.

Even though he said it's 'doubtful' I consider that more of a 'doubtful' in terms of confirmation via the Official Site and word from an Official Spur Release. I just think that we will have an undoubtedly strong tie or string of information regarding a player that we can all but consider it done and locked up.

Im going to be controversial here and say Modric wasnt a very creative player and I felt last season the player who make a chance out of nothing would be VDV, this is my take on Dembele and Modric

I remember talking to you about him a year and saying he had great potential but didnt think he was a upgrade AS a second striker to VDV

BUT since JOL has moved him to CM he has been my favourite player of last season so underrated it was criminal last season, he had vision, the passing ability and dribbling skill to replace modric imo. Modric's best ability imo wasnt his ability to pass but to get himself out of a sticky situation and make room for himself to find someone or make a killer ball, in a nutshell Dembele has been doing exactly that for Fulham
The absence of Hudd made me realise last season we are really shit of playing our wingers in to the game and that was why imo VDV would drop deep alot.

I would love Isco because he seems to be able to run at teams sitting and cause havoc with his passing and runs
