I have a feeling AVB will quit by the end of the year. Sounds like the investment he might have been promised is non existent or not happening for whatever reason.

Seems like everyone is rejecting us this window, maybe the Modric saga is starting to bite us back or probably just money.

I'm worried for the coming season now. First time I've said it! I'm hibernating for a few days! Hope things turn around quickly #THFC

Stoof, what you got, man!?

[I agree, it's the Akqa/JJ/Spurvert triumvirate that's got all down on things]

I haven't got anything! Perhaps a sense of perspective? I think people are too up and down here and have got too involved in it all emotionally.

What will be will be. I've worked on deals for 6 months, for them to tank 4 days before completion. Then come alive 2 days later.

Maybe it won't be right for Newcastle, but maybe it will be right for the next 5 years. Yes the players have to focus on the next game and the next game only - but we, as fans, have the ability to look to the future and see a bigger picture. If our striker isn't there on Day 1, if he's there on Day 7 for the next 5 years, that'll be good enough for me.

We still have a good team.

I hate to break it to you all: JJ is not God.

He's good. He's not the Messiah. I can't comment as to whether he's a naughty boy or not.

Then let's hope we don't miss out on the Champions League by a point if we're going to forfeit the first two games again.

The problem lies in that he is the defacto king of ITK at the moment. Which comes with it alot of responsiblity imo, he has a duty to make sure he doesn't empty a tanker of gasoline on an already volatile situation like he has tonight. For me the best ITK's also have to make sure they relay info without causing problems for the club and also for the fans. If nothing is likely to come off just throw out a throwaway statement that still has some hope in it.

I've no doubts we'll buy the players we need this window, that's never been the problem. What worries me is that the Geordie game has been put on a pedestal as the deadline by alot of our online community and JJ has just destroyed all hopes of any purchases by then and caused mass panic and anger.

We are all hoping for a goal every other game striker.
But we already have a goal every other game midfielder.
Would sig work upfront, with vdv behind him?

The Champion's League qualification wasn't the holy grail we'd all thought it would be. People still feel hurt that we never quite kicked on because of it, every window that comes without the major charge forward just adds to it.

I appreciate the calls for perspective - I would however say that should be fail to reinforce up front our team, admittedly with Gylfi added - will be last year's good team minus the 29 goals Adebayor contributed. How good will that team be? Hopefully we won't find out!

I'd argue that, Peanut aside [and whose ITK posts are rarer than rocking horse poo], JJ is by quite a distance the ITK with the most reliable recent track record. That's not to say that he knows everything, much less that he is God, but I can't name anyone outside of the Spurs Official website/twitter and the BBC/more reliable broadsheet reporters etc that I'd place more store on when giving out inside information on THFC.

Sig doesn't quite stretch the defenders the way Adebayor did, plus you want him on the ball more.

Well I can know what I know, and feel how I feel. :) And if we differ, so be it.
