Here we go again, you lot make me laugh, get linked to a top player like Ibra and you don't want him at the club, you've been asking for a backup player for ages and yet when we're linked to a good one you don't want him...you're actually mental...I just can't...:D

He’s 38!

People were screaming to give Parrott a go 3 months ago.

It’s not his ability, it’s what he’ll do to put other players noses out of joint. He’s hardly a team player. I think the story is nonsense anyway. He’ll want £200k a week to sit on the bench. No way levy agrees to that. He’s employees Mourinho, he hasn’t had a brain and personality transplant!

A lot of paper talk about Ruben Dias and Bruno Fernandes being his two primary targets for this window.

Different papers reporting it so it seems they’ve been briefed.

Bale could be a real possibility imo. Feels a bit perfect storm like! New manager has a big enough pull to entice him, he loved playing for us and clearly isn't happy in Madrid, the Madridistas are baying for blood which means the club will be more motivated to move him on and Levy might see this as the big opportunity to further improve the status of the club and win back round the fans.

And? He's a good player regardless of age.

How do you know what the plan is for Parrott, he could be sent out on loan for example?

People on here have constantly wished for a backup striker like Giroud for example just to give Kane some competition and help him out yet when we're actually linked to a decent one you don't want to know, make up your mind lol

He played for Man Utd for a year and won them the league Cup, this is what the man does he wins shit...did he put any noses out of joint when he was there? I don't get this not a team player thing either?

We're just gonna have to get use to Jose's methods and players he wants to bring in that said I don't see a player like Zlatan coming to Spurs for a bench role anyway he's too big of a star for that.

He was at Man U in 2016. He’s been playing in a pub league since then. Three years later at his age his legs aren’t going to be the same on top of the injury he had at Man U.

By all means we should try and sign Bale, but Ibrahimovich, not for me.

I really hope he prioritises a right back, left back and defensive midfielder. He's generally pretty good at analysing the weak points in a squad and you don't have to be a genius to spot those. Another creative midfielder would be good as well, sounds like Bruno Fernandes is back on the radar.

He virtually played all season as a starter at Man U, do you really think he's gonna have the same role if we sign him? He played 28 in the first season and 5 in the second before getting injured...No way he'd get that much game time here, he'll get more Llorente mins again that's the reason I don't see the move happening.

Surely if we really are in for Bale Madrid can't really charge that much for him. "Here's a player who the manager and fans openly don't want at the club and who openly doesn't want to be here himself. £100m please". Doesn't really add up. Think we could get him on the cheap.

Think we are crying out for a proper DM (opposed to Dier), someone like Florentino from Benfica would be a treat. He's 20, Portuguese but would cost a pretty penny due to the teams interested.

I never said he was going to play the same role as he did at Man U. As I said he’s 38!

Besides we aren’t signing him.

Well you said that at his age his legs aren't going to be the same plus he suffered that injury and my response to that was he's not going to start as many matches as he did at Man Utd therefore not needing to rely on his legs so much.

I was literally looking at scouting reports on him this morning lol. Thought I'd try and look at Portugese talents seeing as we are more likely to look at those.

The biggest task we have short term is getting the dressing room settled again to ensure that we're all pulling together. Therefore, the single biggest mistake you could make at this stage is bringing in the mother of all rotten apples - Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Just... No
Ive heard quite the opposite about him from well-placed utd fans. Apparently he was a huge asset in the dressing room and gave utd back a winning mentality and held no prisoners in training sessions. They think him leaving played a massive part in their standards dropping again. Just some food for thought

My front six would look like this:
First choice:
-------New DM--------
Lo Celso---Ndombele
--Bale--Kane--Son--

I think Ibra has definitely mellowed. He's not the same guy he was at Inter, Barca or Milan.

He's a real leader, takes immense care of himself and has developed a real sense of humour. Some team out there are going to get themselves a real asset in him. I don't expect it'll be Spurs but would not be upset to be proven wrong!

Dier is not the answer if we truly want to compete for big titles. He’s so easily upset by pressing traps even when at his best.

good point but very possible his role and the DM role looks different under Jose. With Poch,we played from the back no matter what the opponent was doing, Jose is more pragmatic.

Possibly, but I still don’t think he’s quite good enough at the top level. Definitely good enough to stabilise the ship and take us up the table, but then...
