the same BF as we should have signed in the summer and the same Ruben Dias we should have bought if Levy had not facked up the summer. Along with the same Dybala that we just couldn't get over the line like Moutinho and Rivaldo....got it....carry on
PS @dtxspurs no offense meant....feel like we've heard it before, know what I mean?

Ruben Dias, Bruno Fernandes, Paulo Dybala as well as Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon & Clarke who we got this summer right? How much Monopoly money do you think that would have cost us? £300m or so?

It simply isn't practical or reasonable to expect a club like ours to go and buy all of that all at once! It really irks me when people see non-reckless spending as us being tight fisted. Ask yourself this, would you have gone out and spent £300m on the players you wanted in the summer on top of the ones we got based on a manager who's team look like it had gone off the rails?

Just hope he can honour it like Rasiak and vinnie

I’ve always had a feeling that our number 9 shirt is actually cursed, the only genuinely successful number 9 we’ve had in the last 20-30 years has been Berbatov.

Anderton had it, and was constantly injured, so was Ferdinand when he had it.
Soldado had absolutely no luck.
Vinny was a massive flop.
Least said about Rasiak the better.
Pav was hit and miss.

If we bring in Bale, Fernandes, Matic and Dias, is that enough? It's a new spine in effect, but we'll still have problems at fullback.

I sincerely hope the fullback areas get some attention as I feel it's our weakest position.

However, I do like Foyth.

Please remember the club often pays for these players over the duration of the contract so probably paying less than £15m a season form NDombele for example.. Lo Celso is gonna be cut price if we pay up in January.. We have a net spend of approx £5 a year for the last decade and spend less as a percentage of income on player salaries. Add to that the clubs income is massively increasing year on year then we can afford to buy 3/4 more top players in the next couple of windows.

we should not be think the same as we were 10 years ago

Really think these links, except for maybe Dias and Bruno, are just old links being brought up now that Mourinho is our head couch.
Dias is a fantastic defender and would be a great addition so it surprises me that you feel this way. He reminds me of Toby in certain aspects of him game; tackling, threat in the box, good vision.

Dias would be a fantastic replacement for one of the Belgium's long term.

We don't need any of those players.
We need fullbacks (specially RB) and a DM (Dier is not good enough imo)

Think you misread my post, I think both Bruno and Dias are definitely on our list of targets, its the old Mourinho players who I think are just linked to fill the lines/pages.

Dias would be a fantastic addition to our back line.

We needed new fullbacks for the system Poch wanted to play, not Mourinho. Not that we can't upgrade on our current FB's, but let's see what system Mourinho wants to play before we decide for ourselves what players we may need.

However Dias is a CB which we need to replace the possible departure of Verts/Alderweireld.

I think we need fullbacks regardless of the system we will use. The ones we have are just not good enough
