David Ornstein in his Monday morning briefing for The Athletic saying he doesn’t believe there will be significant incomings in January...

Efforts to trim what has become a bloated group will resume this winter, however the number of players joining the club is expected to be limited. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has talked of overseeing a “new chapter” and many observers wrongly took that to mean there would be significant spending in January.

There is a feeling around Spurs, though, that the Argentine is more likely to integrate young, hungry players such as Oliver Skipp, Japhet Tanganga and Troy Parrott. This would be similar to what he did when he arrived in 2014 and trusted the likes of Harry Kane, Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend and Nabil Bentaleb, while phasing out more experienced players such as Emmanuel Adebayor and Younes Kaboul.

Always felt the only way we do anything in January is if players like Aurier, Rose, Wanyama. Obviously Eriksen, Toby and Jan could also obviously go but suppose they may just hold off until the summer. Depressing we may have to go the whole season with these woeful fullback options.

(1) he's found a place in Sarri's team
(2) his price if going up
(3) he didn't want to go unless forced out
(4) we are in such a mess now he'll unlikely choose us

Most important - in my opinion we have more burning positions than secondary striker. I'd rather spend that money on world class DM
He never wanted to leave, he’s playing now, and Juve jimmied FFP by increasing their sponsorship deal with Jeep that’s owned by the Agnellis.

Thanks gents.

Didn't know his situation had improved. I assumed we would be making a strong bid if he was closeish in the last window.

I too would. Like a strong or world class DM if we can. I'd rather dier revert to CB. Think we do need some extra meat up top, I know we have lucas who being real deserves more minutes but feel the attacking department needs some refreshment and variation.

Still not sure I understand why we have to wait to sell players to start integrating these youth options. Just do it. Stop playing the bums and move on.

It’s not like any of these “want-away” guys are going to generate material sales proceeds anyway. Just banish them if we are worried about having too many guys at practice or them poisoning the well.

Of course that does nothing to solve the insistence on playing Winks as our DM.

Good plan. Get them signed at 19, that way by the time they're hitting their 'peak' at 28/29 they might get half an hour off the bench

Quite honestly I'd be fine with this.

We'd all like to see new signings but in the meantime I'd simply like to see Eriksen and Rose dropped completely.

Bring in Tanganga, Parrott and Skipp to be a proper part of the squad.

Eriksen was trash yesterday and for all the talent he may have we would benefit far more by sticking a youngster out there, working hard, doing their best and caring about playing for us than having Eriksen coast around giving zero fucks.
If only it was true

We don’t have to wait, it’s bullshit

Hope we’re keeping an eye on Ajax’s right back Sergiño Dest - he looks a lot of fun...

He's still pretty raw but undoubtedly talented. And, considering he plays for the USMNT I'm sure we will do everything within our power to completely ruin any talent he has and leave behind the husk of what once was a talented player.

VdV pimping ziyech to levy as the Eriksen replacement. I really rate him, very unpredictable and create magic out of nothing

Wont happen. With Lucas and Son I can't see Poch wanting another tricky wide player. Then that would make the Jack Clarke signing even more ridiculous.

Happy to see VdV with our best interests in mind though.

what is sad in a way is how little interest there was in our want away players - Eriksen, Aurier, Rose, Toby and how much further their stock has fallen. Honestly be surprised if we could get 25-35 million for the lot in Jan.

Toby we will get £0 for, Eriksen if we are lucky we might get £10m-£15m for in January, if not he will be another £0, Rose I think we could get £15m for from a chump team like Everton should they end up flogging Digne and Aurier, purely because of his age would command similar.

£30m realistically, £45m if we are lucky. If we need to balance books we may have to start getting a little creative with players at peak value to wheel and deal a bit here and there.

Think the money from wages is the biggest deal. It’s a huge amount and considering where our revenue has been, I think the wages from these players was the primary reason to move on and facilitate replacements.
