Ndidi

Him and Ndombele would take us back to the Dembele + Wanyama midfield.

Would cover our defence too but would prob cost £50mill+

Keep an eye out on the new Mane at Southampton. Could well be real deal.

calvin stengs at az is a player i like. typically plays rw cutting inside onto his left but i think his future is as a dembele-like cm but with much greater creative passing. he's quite a tall guy but once he fully matures i think he can become a dominant player in the same way that mousa was for us. he's still only 20 and was always seen as very promising when going up through the youth ranks but he suffered a bad leg break when he was younger so missed more than a year of his development but now he's back on track and doing well.

here's a little glimpse of him here:

edit: here's a more recent video of him

Was I right in thinking a few transfer windows ago we were looking at Daniel podence? The lad that tore us apart the other night. Reminded me of a young hazard

Don´t know about that but we were linked to Ezequiel Ponce (quite similar name) but he went to Roma.

We were definitely linked and I agree with the Hazard comparison. Couldn't believe that he had gone to Olympiakos for such a small fee as he looks a real player.

I really hope we are watching 20 year old Donyell Malen at PSV. Kid looks insane. Scored 10 in the 13 in all competitions so far and can play up front and on the the left wing. He's quick and very tricky. If he continues to develop at this rate he will be the next in demand Dutch youngster. Here's a comp vid from August, couldn't find anything newer, but it gives a hint at his talent. I know the Dutch league is difficult to judge, but definitely one to watch.

Yeah there was defo a tenuous link with him because I remember watching a YouTube vid at the time.

We desperately need a player like Fabinho or Fernandinho who shield the back line and keep play ticking over. Winks is great at the latter but provides none of the former whatsoever.

I like Berge but I worry that he's such a massive unit he'd "do a Dier" and lose a yard or two of pace as he ages into his mid-twenties, rendering him incapable of keeping up with the pace of play. Diawara seems to have stagnated a little and is unlikely to be on the market having just signed for Roma anyway. Sangare is definitely an intriguing option. Same with Camavinga but we need a player who can step into the first XI now, not one who might go on to be world class in five years.

Anyone aware of any other young No. 6 types who are physically imposing and can also play a bit?

I looked into him over the summer and he seems like more of a Winks or Jorginho type than a Fernandinho/Fabinho type. In other words more of a pure tempo-setter than hybrid footballing ball-winner. But I admittedly haven't seen anything of him other than what's available on Youtube, is he strong defensively?

Not in a Wanyama kind of way. More comparable to a Busquets.

I think we've got a regista type already in Winks. What we're lacking IMO is a player like Fabinho who can keep play ticking over and shield the back line at the same time.

Yeah, we need someone who can drop in and cover just like Dier used to do. Leicester wouldnt have got near our goal as often today if that was the case.

I'd happily replace Sissoko with this kind of player and push Winks and Ndombele on.

I doubt it's on our radar though. I imagine we'll be looking at Cbs and a RB, maybe another attacker.
