Ricardo would have been perfect. At the time, I think Poch was emphasizing positional flexibility between a back four and a back three with wing backs, Poch and/or Levy's team might have been concerned that Ricardo and Trippier are both wing-backs. Aurier certainly had the physical build of a true fullback and might have appealed as more of a like-for-like Walker replacement. In fairness, when Ricardo first arrived at LCFC, Puel wouldn't play him in the back and had him as a winger. He's still not perfect defensively, but the upside is there for a terrific fullback on both sides of the pitch who has improved quickly.

I really hoped this could be a breakout year for Aurier and didn't expect it to be another disaster. I am probably foolish for hoping there's still a player there somewhere. When his head is screwed on he can make some excellent defensive plays, and links well with Sissoko going forward, has put in a few wicked crosses of his own. But the percentage of time with his head screwed on is a relatively low percentage. Costly defensive errors and giving away possession and fouls cheaply and dangerously.
If we end up selling Aurier then the recruitment team really need to look at themselves as that would be two high priority positions over the last few seasons in RB and ST that we’ve completely got wrong and had to sell a few seasons later (Aurier & Janssen)

Our priorities should be:
1. CM - N’domble
2. RB - AWB
3. AM/ST -Zaha
+
CB & AM if Toby & Eriksen go (?? & Grealish)

Also depends on long term fitness of likes of : Wanyama, Winks, Lamela etc as if they are all crocked we’d need another CM & AM on top of the above.

Getting racially abused by one of the fans wouldn't of overly helped

True, but I wouldn't be happy if one of our players refused to play for us because of racial abuse from one or even a handful of fans. As we know there's been some against Son, and Spurs fans have recently sent abuse to a girl with Downs syndrome, so we got a lot of idiots among us as well.
Think it's been an excuse for Billing.

Yeah not saying it’s an excuse but it wouldn’t have made the situation better, I don’t think Billing ever refused to play but a few months ago he said he wants to leave and the manager has since played the players that want to be there and pretty much prepare them for the championship

Not just Billing, the manager left out a fair few players who had a desire to leave.

I think you’ve got this arse backwards. You really shouldn’t be happy about a handful of “fans” racially abusing anyone, let alone a player from the team they support.

And the abuse of the girl with downs made
me feel ashamed to support the same team as those that abused her. That was a fucking disgrace.

If you could have a team based from anyone outside the top 6 who would you want at spurs?

Lloris
Wan-Bisaka Alderweireld Vertonghen Chilwell
Winks Sissoko
Dele Eriksen Son
Kane
this is an excellent idea. I have a PM challenge going about it and was going to start a thread because I believe you can make a 25 man squad of non-top 6 players that could win the league. Folks will say no way but when you consider a 38 game season in which the top 6 will be playing in Europe and you have the luxury of doubling up at every position with cherry-picked quality and balance to persevere through injury all with 1 game/wk.

This flies in the face of a wishlist where folks are pushing forwards 'names' with no regard for the other issues.

Worth a general football chat to name best 25 man squad from outside top 6. As I wouldn't want to steal your thunder I'll wait for you to create it

Schmeichel
AWB Maguire Ake Chilwell
Moutinho Rice
Richarlison Madison Zaha

I’ve seen Billing suggested a few times, I know little about him other than he’s big and he’s home grown. What type of player is he? Is he potentially good enough to start for us? Who would he compete with/ potentially replace?

He doesn't even start for Huddersfield half the time. I asked a Huddersfield supporting friend about him, basically said he's got potential but nothing special.

Typical. A player no one talks about except for SC as a must buy ?. I’d rather go with Poch and sign no one.

Feel free my friend as you were the first to do it publicly. But I like how you think. My only suggestion would be formation(as you've done here) and expected tactics ie pressing, possession, reactive, Mou bus park, etc.

You're lineups good but you need that bench.

Ndombele

Grealish, Brooke’s, would be happy with all or any of them, but whoever we bring in I really hope we can get it done early.

Remember Modric in the crowd last game of the season against Bolton!

I bloody won't. At the time Walker was rumoured to be leaving I said "Anyone who actively seeks to leave Spurs now is a total penis", and I think that's even more the case now.

I'm amazed at how people peddle a story fed by the club... Do you remember the fancy term used towards the end of that season " no one will be sold who we dont want to be sold".

Its apparent to me that City approached us early enough and we liked the idea as Poch felt Trippier could do a job and then that line came about.

Try reading Kyle's version of events as Well before calling him a penis...
