Players I'm happy to move on or possibly will move on:

Vorm - free
Tripper - £30m
Alderweireld - £25m
Rose - £25m
Wanyama - £5m
Lamela - £15m
Eriksen - £60m
Nkoudou - £5m
Janssen - £5m
Llorente - free

= £170m

Players I'd bring in to replace them with:

Pope - £10m
Wan-Bissaka - £40m
Andersen - £25m
Grimaldo - £25m
Diawara - £20m
Grealish - £30m
Brandt £20m
Havertz - £50m

= £220m

£50m overall spent

It seems a lot but we could integrate all of these slowly by still playing a team at the start of the season that looks like:

Lloris
Aurier
Vertonghen
Sanchez
Davies
Dier
Winks
Dele
Lucas
Son
Kane

If we could get the players I've highlighted out and in I wouldn't even bother with a backup to Kane knowing that both Son & Lucas could if need be operate up top.

Lloris, Gazzaniga, Pope
Wan-Bissaka, Aurier, Walker-Peters, Grimaldo, Davies
Vertoghen, Andersen, Sanchez, Foyth
Dier, Diawara, Skipp
Winks, Sissoko
Grealish, Brandt, Havertz, Dele
Son, Lucas, Edwards
Kane

24 man squad, 10 HG 5 of which are club trained, genuine competition in every single position apart from the one we don't need any, up top. If Kane gets injured use Son or Lucas as alternatives knowing we have a choice of better quality AMs challenging than we currently have.

This is my wish list and apart from the volume of ins and outs, I honestly don't think it's unrealistic for a club like ours to be able to attract any of the players I've highlighted coming in. Move the firing players on and bring in better quality to give the current first XI a rocket and genuine competition for places. 4 of 5 of those and I'd be delighted
Why would you prefer Rose being sold to Davies? Rose is far superior.

Toby seems to be making the right noises about staying.

Eriksen I think is probably leaving, and in honesty, I’m not that bothered. His season has been mediocre at best, and while I think he’s a great player to have around the club, if we can get £75M+ for him then we should take it.

Eriksen isn’t irreplaceable. Nor is Toby. Nor, in fairness, is anyone except Harry Kane.

May I remind you that we lost Luka Modric, Dimitar Berbatov and Gareth Bale - all arguably more important players than Eriksen - and lived to tell the tale. If he wants out then cash in and get the money spent wisely and quickly.

Ahh, the hole in your plan

Yeah, to be fair, I am [genuinely] not very happy with that post. I think the underlying point (i.e. of course Poch wouldn't have been happy with our failure to do business in last summer's transfer market) stands, but I've couched it all in route-one sarcasm that just isn't very inventive or funny. It's quite literally the kind of post that @BringBack_leGin would have typed if there was a pro-Levy point to be made, and I'm not proud of that. Must be funnier.
Ha ha ha I am waiting for BBLG’s confected response

Roses contract finishes in 2021 and he's older than Davies. Davies can also play CB if need be but mostly it's because this summer is the last summer we can get maximum money for Rose and by the sound of what he'd said previous he's not looking for a stay down south

The one we would keep would hopefully be the backup to a new player, Davies is more likely to accept that.

Anyone seen much of Norwich this season? From the little I’ve seen Aarons and Lewis look like very good prospects and HG too. Along with Lloyd Kelly they could be good backup targets if we don’t get the top tier fullbacks like Ferland Mandy and AWB
I live in Norwich and my Mrs is a season ticket holder so I watch and follow them quite a bit. Both Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis look like really good fullbacks, also got a decent Argentinian player called Emi Buendia whos very good (could well be their player of the season). I think Aarons or Lewis could cut it in the premier league, and I think Lewis has just recently made hid debut for Northern Ireland in the recent qualifiers.

Rose is also HG in both PL and CL/EL. Since it's not a must upgrade position I wager we float through friends/agents both are available, see how the squad building in need positions pans out, whose available on the market, then make a call on selling one or neither.

Aaron’s, Lewis and especially Lloyd Kelly should be exactly the type of players we should be targeting to develop.

Helps our home grown numbers and is the right ethos.

Then add some established experienced players but these type of youngsters should be picked up every window so we constantly grow as a club and keep the squad youthful.

Dan James and Jack Clarke are 2 others I’d be looking at also.

He was apparently offered to us and Poch turned his nose up. People are talking about what (allegedly) happened and how it has panned out. We couldn't get Rabiot or N'Dombele or any number of other options, but we could have got Tielemans and we would now have him as a CM option where we are totally screwed. It was a half season loan, not a 30m investment.

You could add Grealish too.

If we had forked out a bit more to AV’s previous owners, I think Grealish would have joined us back then.

The thing is Tielemans wasn't just a loan, it was a swap deal involving Adrien Silva. There's every chance Monaco wouldn't go for a loan to us knowing that a loan to Leicester involved them getting a player in return as they fight relegation
