BBC gossip this morning, suggesting Overmars is going to attempt to get Alderweireld & Vertonghen back at Ajax in the summer.
Seems likely... I imagine we'll bring back Modric, Bale, Berbatov and bring Carrick out of retirement too.

I think we could make do with Sissoko as CM. Right now our width going forward is awful

IMO, if we lose Eriksen we could do with some proper creativity from CM to compensate (like Kovacic or Barella for example). Winks is really the only CM we have who can find a pass with any regularity. Sissoko is great at what he does but a lot of the time it's only Eriksen dropping deep that gives us any cutting edge in the middle, but then we miss him further forward.

Im so sad for football. When Chelsea started spending big under Abramovich the prevailing thought was that their new fans were plastics and the money was distorting the game. The same thing happened with city. Sure their long-suffering fans were lucky to get some success and good for them, but the net effect on the game was negative.

Now a lot of the early Chelsea fans who were choosing who to support are adults and all they have ever known is football manager and big spending oligarchs. People under the age of 25 have never known anything different. Spending more and more money to win more and more is all they’ve ever known and they expect their club to keep up. If only we spent more we would win more. I won’t go off on too many tangents but it mirrors broader trends in society - if only I spent more or earned more... I’d m be happier !

But the surprising effect has been not on these young people who have never known any different. It has been in the expectations of all fans. Fans who have known differently, who can remember clubs like Ajax and Gotheburg in the CL, who have felt the joy of winning with an eccentric home grown talent ... these fans have also bought into the idea that if only we spent more and more we would win. Victory for a season is always one more key signing away.

That’s not the football I know and came to love. I’m grateful that my club does things differently and I’ll despair when my club is sold to a Russian or American oligarch. I love the club for being responsible. The feeling in France is that money means a European super league is inevitable. It will be the final nail in the coffin in the game and yet people will lap it up. Uefa is our final hope.

Daniel James just scored a nice goal for Wales. More I see him more I think we should be all over him in the summer. Has potential to be a star.

Not sure about this

Ajax director of football Marc Overmars has expressed interest in bringing Spurs' Belgium defenders Jan Vertonghen, 31, and Toby Alderweireld, 30, back to the Dutch club this summer. (Fox Sports - via Metro)

Couple of goals and 5 assists for Swansea this season. Been played all over the place.

Looking at him play for Wales, links up well with those around him, and tries to get the ball moving quickly, nice movement off the ball also.

Incredible pace too and looks like he works really hard off the ball.
I think he’ll be the next Brooks in that fans think we should’ve got him before he got his PL move.

Forget pipedreams like Sancho he is a type of player we should be going for.

Wouldn’t be too expensive either with Swansea needing the money

I'd google what he actually said.

Watching Germany-Netherlands and Nico Schulz looks interesting bombing up and down the left flank as a wing back and assisting Sane with a precise cross for their first goal. 2nd half Germany barely saw the ball but as the game was settling down for a 2-2 draw he popped up in the box to finish off a nice team goal with his weaker right foot to win it for the Germans. Looks technically apt with good pace and impressive stamina.
