Shoot me down but I get the diamond it is a very fluid system once we get it right.

Harry Kane is a striker that has a footballing brain he can switch pivot between dropping off and being up top.

I look forward to seeing Dele Alli getting back to full fitness, now both players are independent of each other tho I believe together they are a good combination. Alli is an intelligent players, people don't give him credit now it up to him to get back.
Any system is good once you get it right. We cant get it right. I know that's an awfully simplistic way to look at it, but thats the root of the problem.

Hopefully, if he does persist with it, he brings in the tools to make it work.

The diamond is only part of the problem. I don’t like it because I think it always makes you vulnerable on the flanks, but the bigger problem is that we’re caught in no man’s land where Poch is still setting us up like a front foot, high energy attacking team, when our personnel are now mostly experienced, lacking legs or enthusiasm, and would be better suited to being more defensive and playing on the counter.

For a diamond to work you must have full backs whom are quick, strong, attack minded and have bundles of energy. Our full backs have none of these attributes. Without these our only outlet is Son as he’s getting outnumbered by the opposition defence as the diamond makes us one dimensional based on our current available players.

433 is the way forward but this will also require 2 competent, energetic full backs. Sessegnon has bundles of promise but needs to strengthen from a defensive perspective... whereas at RB we need to sign someone new, no 2 ways about it.

The problem for us with the diamond at the moment is that we don't have the right player at the top of it, or the bottom, and one of the players in the middle is running on fumes after 35 minutes. Other than that, it's fine.
More akin to a cubic zirconia as of late.

Atal looks good to me from that video. Excellent recovery pace, active defensively, penalised by the idiot ref for a brilliant tackle and he's shown plenty of quality going forward in other videos I've seen.

TBH, all this talk of needing a new RB just gets me more annoyed that we didn't sign Ricardo Pereira. He's been brillaint at Leicester and exactly what we needed. Irritating.

After watching the Danish game against Switzerland this week I want us to sign Denis Zakaria even more, I think we have been linked with him before. He was soo good! Gladbach also open to selling according to their chairman in Bild - for £40m
Also good against Ireland where he ran the show, and Switzerland was never able to press that well if didn't had Zakaria.

Not quite, JJ just said we weren't interested.

These team looks to have a good balance and pace...

Lloris
Atal Sanchez Ake Sessegnon
Lo Celso Zakaria Ndombele
Lucas Kane Son

You’re talking £150m I guess to bring in Atal, Ake and Zakaria. And ideally I’d want someone better than Lucas too.

What's the situation with Ake and the buy back, I'm unfamiliar how a buy back works, I'm assuming a player can refuse?

I’ve got a feeling Chelsea would look elsewhere anyway. I’d imagine they get the chance to match any offer accepted maybe.
