This is the best thread. Hope and optimism before realism snd despair hit us in august

This thread is for you to express all your Spurs related Transfer dreams and recommend young players you've seen that you think we should be keeping an eye on.

This thread isn't for discussing ITK.

As usual, the thread will run until the next Transfer Forums open after which we'll move all Transfer stuff over there like we always do.

Meanwhile the ITK and Transfer Forums are closed until the summer, which means nobody can see them, so don't panic.
What happened to the one I started?

Neves is way out of our price range. Even Pep said he was too expensive for City.
It is a wish list after all :)

More realistically then, Berge. Genk are very much becoming the Belgian Ajax with their track record for churning out high quality players and he looks the part.

Alternatively, I continue to be impressed with Ndidi at Leicester.

Go all out for Brooks. That boy is gonna be a star. After that go for Maddison if he promises to score an own goal or two on Sunday.

N’Dombele would be top of my list, albeit he’s now likely out of reach. The guys a beast and would fit beautifully into our midfield. I guess whilst he hasn’t moved somewhere though we have a shout. Got to open the cheque book at some point right?
On a similar note, if this is a wishlist I’d still love us to go for Fekir as well, again, whilst he hasn’t moved the least we could do is see if it could be done.

On the note of some hopefully more realistic targets, Brooks all day long. Think the lad is class. Maddison likewise if we could pry him away from Leicester - both players we could have had cheaper but I think they are worth the extra money. Hirving Lozano as well, talented player and in the Eredivisie. Think he could do well for us, likewise Bergwijn. I actually still think there is some really good value to be had for us in transfer windows without breaking the bank.

Just came on to post my musings in the now-defunct transfer wishlist thread, so I'll kick this off. No pressure.

My major concern now that we've gone two full windows without making a signing is that all the signs suggest we're heading for wholesale change once again this summer, perhaps even more drastically than we did in 2013.

(People forget that, as well as Bale, we also lost Defoe, Caulker, Parker, Dempsey and Huddlestone that year).

As we know, our 7 new signings in that window took a while to gel, with arguably only two - Eriksen and Lamela - ever really coming good for us.

I can realistically see the following players departing this summer: Lloris, Trippier, Aurier, Alderweireld, Wanyama, Llorente, Vorm, Janssen, Nkoudou, Eriksen, and one of Lamela or Lucas.

In any case, I can see us needing to make a minimum of 6 signings this summer, which fills me with dread. I really think we're going to regret rolling our transfer windows over, twice, and doing all of our business at once.

The players I'd most like us to bring in are:

LB - Sessegnon
RB - Aarons
CM - Berge, Brooks, Barrios, Neves (any 2)
FW - Bowen, Werner

I would have liked De Ligt and Dolberg from Ajax too, but I think we've missed the boat on those by not getting them last summer. They'll be well out of our price range by now.
I don’t know if I’ve just made this up but I swear Barrios just moved to a Russian team. Imagine that will make his price more unrealistic and a challenge to sign.

Edit - Yes he has - Zenit

Who me? Never been particularly bothered by him. If Poch wants him I will support his decision but making my own picks Grealish isn’t, and never has been, top of my list.
No, sorry. My post was meant for @freeeki.

He wanted us to sign Grealish all summer.
I think we might have a chance if Villa don’t get promoted.

Futile exercise in February this season I feel. Long way to go until the end of this season and until we know who'll stick around. Plenty of question marks around central players who have been around for some time, and young players trying to establish themselves. Will be interesting to see how Tielemans fare in PL.

My wish list

Out: Janssen, Llorente, Vorm, Aurier, Trippier, Wanyama

In: Wan-Bissaka, Berge, Zaha

If Toby goes Sanchez and Foyth step up.

If Eriksen goes then would love a deal for Isco but can see it being Brooks.

I’m not using this as a wish list because then we get into debates about whether we will or will not buy said players. I think the old scouting thread was really interesting in identifying interesting players that we may never buy, especially given the specific country knowledge of some of our posters. I will kick this off with a player we haven’t been linked to and I doubt we sign but I think is quality and fits with my Leverkusen fixation (it worked with Berba and Son).

I think Kai Havertz is going to be absolute mustard.

Would love @Ossie85 to post on the best Argentine players and anyone else with expertise of other countries.

I'd do a list but at a certain point my list just becomes "buy Lyon and give ourselves all their good players and let them keep the rubbish ones"

Continuing with the Leverkusen theme I think Brandt could be a second Son and would gladly replace Moura and Lamela with him

Does anyone fancy going to the effort of making a list from everyone's suggestions? Ideally linked to the players profile on transfermarket or something?

If someone does, we'll keep the first post updated with it :)
