This should be in the ITK thread, and is in yesterday's. (y)

But, neither. Will.I.an

Difficult to know whether he is claiming that as ITK or simply passing it on as info from the papers (since they mentioned it before Akqa did) or that he is just having one of his nights.

Didn't the same paper say we were close with a bid of €15 a couple of weeks ago?

Maybe this time round DL has reversed his negotiating strategy, start relatively close and then start knocking off how much we are willing to pay each day it drags?! ;)

To be honest though I am relatively sure that this coincides with the info from the French paper last week (was it L'equipe?), where they said €11 with add-ons that brought it up to the €15 if memory serves.

So I could see this as us upping our up front payment to 12 with either reduced add-ons to stay at 15 or that increased too, but is not mentioned in that tweet. If we're at €16 though I would expect us to be closing in, we will likely have to go up still, but i wouldn't expect Lyon to be stubborn about €20m.

The Lloris links are getting tiring and boring now, hear a different story in terms of our interest for him every other day.

agree the whole Lloris thing is becoming tiresome as is most of this window tbh, dont know why we are spending what looks like a disproportionate amount of time and money on a position that for this season doesnt appear that key. BF was excellent last year and surely has at least one more year in him. Focus time and money on the key areas 2 CFs, cover on the right for Lennon, cover at LB and of course the Modric replacement.

Because who do we get next year?
Good GK's are few and far between... Really good ones even more so. I am no saying we should spank €20m on Lloris, but if we miss out on a player like Lloris this year we could be up that creak without the proverbial.

Yes we need strikers and a Modric replacement, but I would rather we forked out the extra cash this window (if we can) and offset it by not spending next window if it meant our GK position was done and dusted for the foreseeable future.

It is a false economy to save the money now and not have an option next year due to availabilities or just as bad, other clubs also needing keepers. Czech won't be around a lot longer, Arsenal might change their mind and need one next year, Reina might want to leave pool etc...

Anyway, this probably should go in the player thread, so i shall stop the lloris discussion from my perspective to keep this thread as clean as possible.

Since I found out in the ITK thread that there are two Fernandinhos, guess what has been constantly running through my head.
