Unfortunately we still kept doing the things that have caused us to go backwards the last 12 months.

Lot of good players coming through, they need to be given more of a chance now. Going to 2 6N games next year, Dublin v Wales and France away

NZ looking pretty unstoppable at the moment. They even looked like they had a couple of extra gears v Ireland.

Will Genia was terrible for Wallabies, IMO. Every single time he clears the ball, he grabs the ball, straightens, then runs two or three paces before throwing the pass. Doing no favours at all to the backs. By the time the ball gets to them, the onrushing defence is on them. Compare it to the way Aaron Smith was throwing the pass from the base of the ruck. No straightening, no two or three steps, just one bullet after another. Can't believe they let Genia keep doing it game after game. That's why they're not getting the ball wide enough effectively enough. Mindboggling.

By the way this could have easily been directed at me. :)

He's dead right, and it applies to other sports as well. Most sports have changed massively in just the last 10 years, but people keep talking about it like we're still in the 20th century.

I guess the natural follow up question would be why did you change his role?

The Brexit march got in the way of that, but England looked very good to me, with the gap between the teams widening when the 'finishers' came on.

I suspect some of the reasons given for England's win in here has been influenced by a dislike of seeing that happen.

NZ, though, look bloody good. It'll be a tough old semi, but I really really can't see NZ losing it.

Not the only reason, though, one of many. Even you admit it was an advantage.

It was nowhere near enough of an advantage to come close to explaining away how much better England were than Australia. And we'll see that tomorrow when Wales comprehensibly beat France.

Agreed but it could go some way to explain the margin. Not even necessarily freshness but more prep.

When was the last time we comprehensively beat France? Considering the answer to that is probably, fucking ages ago, what makes you think that will happen in the knock outs when France tend to be at their best?

Because this isn't the same calibre of French team who tended to be at their best in knock outs; it's not a national trait!

Wales by 20.
