Liverpool is kind of scary good right now. Klopp really has had them humming along for about 18 months now - 2 CL finals and one title and one point off the league title last year.

I've thought they're 1 or 2 injuries from a proper wobble... Just don't understand how lucky they've been in that department. Depth wise it's just not there. Mane, Salah, VVD and their full backs are irreplaceable. Even Firminho allows them to play a certain way.

Good buys in VVD and Allison/Fabinho. And they struck absolute gold in their fullbacks. Their defence was their weakness now its a strength.

Agreed. If they had similar injury losses as City this season it would be catastophic. They've largely avoided even the 2-4 week injuries.

Who have City lost? Laporte and Sane? They have spent billions and should be able to cover the loss of two players.

And also struck gold with Salah and Mane really. Both good players before but have gone on to be world class.

It’s almost like a team who struck gold - Alisson, VVD, Roberson, Fabinho, Salah, Mane - six times or more aren’t really striking gold, they’re just recruiting really good players who fit together well.

Most were established players who have blossomed. We were into Mane, VVD and probably Fabinho ourselves.

TAA and Robertson were unknown quantities who have been exceptional - Kane like - breakouts. They really did strike gold there. Top scouting yes

Something I often say, we are third followed by something I thought I'd never say, we could be overtaken by West Ham United.
And we're still third, I knew West Ham wouldn't let me down. (y)
The table is beginning to look very familiar, Liverpool, City, Spurs and United top four Leicester fifth then the also rans following up behind.

Yes, they’re obviously doing a lot right in terms of recruitment. Even then I think you need an element of luck. Almost every signing has worked out perfectly for them.

It can't and won't last.

I still think not bringing in another attacker will be a mistake for Klopp. January onwards we may see some tiredness creep in. If they still haven't picked up any injuries then fair play but I'd be very surprised if at least one of their big hitters doesn't pick up a mid-long term injury.

If we can beat Leicester there’s definitely a possibility the gap could be closer by time we go to Anfield. They have Chelsea and United away and Leicester at home. We’d have to win our next 4 but gap could be 3 or 4 pts if we can.

Do they even change their starting XI at all? Their front three will play EVERY game if they are not injured. And I will be real shock if at least two of them don't, throughout this season. That is almost suspiciously impossible.

Going to be interesting to see where we are before the Liverpool match on week 10, we have an easier set of fixtures compared to them, in that time they're going to Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford before they're at home to us, Man City have winnable fixtures during this run as well...I think if Liverpool have the same advantage they have now after this run then they're going to be very difficult to stop.

Doesn't really matter if they don't get injuries.
They're human though, not some mythical team sent from the heavens as per the Sky Sports rhetoric. We've head enough shit over recent years for our lack of depth, and there's a reason it was brought into question.

But everyone ignores Liverpool's because some how they've blagged through up until now.... They still never replace Coutinho, the only reason it hasn't harmed them is the other 3 seem seem invincible. Which they're not, so it can't last forever. At some point their depth has to be tested. And I don't believe that will go well for them when it is.

Origi is underrated IMO, always seems to deliver for them when he's called upon and is as good a backup to Firmino as you're likely to get.

Fair enough Shaqiri isn't the standard of Mane/Salah but I think they could cope without one of them for a little while.
