Results falling our way so far apart from Man City. Both Chelsea and Man Utd not winning games they would be expected to do.

If we beat arsenal tomorrow it will be a big result so early.

Seems unlikely but I will.

Just a shame it will be on the back of losing at home to Newcastle!!!

Last week really devalues any result for me though. Shouldn't happen, but good job Utd and Chelsea are at ground zero for rebuilding.

Pool and City only ones in any 'race' with regards to the thread title. City only dropped 15 points all last season. Amazing really!

Still hacked off with that result, sorry.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I'm probably being negative but I just can't get my head around the idea of us being serious title contenders even allowing for what happened last week or might happen tomorrow. Man City and Liverpool are just so far out in front in terms of the ruthless way that they generally despatch the opposition.

We are miles away from challenging for the title. You have to be near perfect to win it now.

We’ve dropped far too many points already which sounds ridiculous but we are already 8 points behind Liverpool and you just can’t afford that. I said in the summer you can’t afford allow slow starts and yet again we’ve made a poor start. Always seem to be excuses why we don’t start the season well.

I think it will finally be Liverpool’s year. Klopp has done an outstanding job and they never seem to get injuries either. They’ve got a fantastically well balanced side.

It’s sad how much we’ve fallen away as we used to finish above them most seasons but to win the title you need to be excellent in all positions and we have massive question marks at too many positions. Full back, CB and CM at the moment.

Agree with all of that, except Liverpool won't be winning the league whilst City are still around...

I don't expect us to be in the running, but still believe we will finish 3rd no matter what the result is tomorrow.

myself I don't see anyone touching City. LaPorte will be a loss to them, but majority of the games they play, they don't even need a defense

last season was the 1st time Liverpool never suffered burnout under Klopp, they went out of both domestic cups in their 1st round which they never used any 1st teamers. majority of there squad had a break and even had a preseason. this season they have had 1 extra game already. also have the wcc in December? and they still have the domestic cups and have 4-5 players that never had a preseason, or 3 weeks off.

Yeah definitely out of Liverpool and City again. They both look scarily good again and Klopp must be doing an amazing job in conditioning his players as they never get any injuries. Compare Mane to Lo Celso, both played in a summer tournament and one has been playing and scoring while the other has had a couple of mins here and there.

If we can sort our shit out I still think we will finish third no matter what the result is in today’s game.

Seems not. What a surprise ?

This reminds me of the acid attacks where people were just doing it for kicks because its in the media spotlight... they wanted to just following the trend.

I know it will be an unpopular opinion but i do feel sometimes that by giving attention to shit like this eg the Tammy, Pogba situations it popularises it so more and more do it just for kicks.

I dont think im making my point properly but im sure you know what i mean...

If we were to lose today we’d only be a point behind Chelsea and United. After having played arguably probably 2 of our 3 hardest fixtures of the season. So the all round top 4 picture would not be too bad. Should we win we are in a great position top 4 wise. But focusing on Chelsea and United may well be the wrong targets lol.

I could see a problem where us, United and Chelsea are all so obsessed with being shit and obsessed with each other that others will fancy overtaking us! So far it’s all been ‘well, we’ve been crap but United and Chelsea are dropping points too’ and you have shit like Palace and West Ham sitting above us all!

Any title chat needs to be changed to a top 4 chat or moved to general because we are as far away from a title challenge as we’ve been under Poch. Won’t get anywhere near it and it feels almost ridiculous to even suggest it right now

That is based on the premise that they are our only challengers for top 4. I believe there maybe at least 2 more.

Mane didn't start or play v City in the charity, never played v Norwich and has been subbed off in a couple. he didn't return from a 3 week holiday where he might of gained some weight. you also got to remember Mane is part of the scene and is used to everything Liverpool and PL by now. Poch is breaking GLC in, letting him settle in a new country, new environment a completely new life.

we have seen it happen to most signings, think Sanchez was one of those exceptions

Police need to start arresting people. Even if it's only to give them a fine it's better than nothing.
It’s fucking crazy that nothing seems to be done about it, the technology companies and the police have the technology and powers to come down on these people, yet they do fuck all.

Can't blame the police. Getting rid of 20,000 of them turns out to have been a bad idea, they can't even respond adequately to violence on the streets, let alone racists on Twitter.

Yeah I guess thats right, its sad state of affairs that its due to resources.
Id make the social media platforms legally obliged to pass this stuff on to the police as its obviously reported to them. Then its down to the government to make the resources available.
If the social media platforms aren't doing enough then they should be fined, heavily...it's the only language they seem to speak.

Threaten to close them down as platforms for hate speech. That will get their arses moving.
