Thrilled for the Bills. Had a soft spot in my heart for Buffalo after their 30 for 30 episode. Desperate for them to beat the Chiefs. Can’t have another Swiftie Super Bowl

We all hope for that but the Chiefs are programmed to be in the Super Bowl with these officials.

Bills v Commanders please!

Ben Johnson to the Bears.
Sigh, I really did think we stood a chance to get Johnson with all the positive noises surrounding this.

On to the backup plan then - a familiar territory for a Raiders fan - which could well be Pete Carroll.

The Jags are a mess, firing the GM now that it’s clear their preferred HC candidates don’t want to work with him.

The Lions coaching staff have been gutted and there might be more to come if they don’t promote some of the asst coaches to OC / DC positions quickly.

And, barring a significant change of direction in the remaining HC vacancies, Brian Flores is staying with the Vikings.

Good stuff.

I think the nail in the coffin for Baalke was that he was running the search for a HC, set his sights on Liam Coen and put everything behind hiring him. Only for Coen to turn the job down and Baalke to have to go explain that their top choice, who he had internally sold to the owner(s) as the pick at HC, that the top choice had turned them down to remain an assistant coach and that the coaching search needed to start again. Ouch.

Probably didn't even finish the explanation before the Kahns told him he was fired.

I felt like Aaron Glenn going to the Jets was sort of a given, he played for them, was scout for them and i think started coaching with them. Becoming HC seemed like the type of story that Woody Johnson would like to tell the NY press.

Happy that Vrabel got Terrell Williams from the Lions to be the DC. Vrabel apparently really liked him when they worked together in Tennessee.. Now we just need to draft Abdul Carter (i would also be happy with either of the UM DTs) at #4.

At least the Lions have the compensatory 3rd round picks for Glenn and I’m hoping for similar if Patrick Graham goes to the Jags.

Spytek is an encouraging move for us as GM who already has an established rapport with Brady (who is clearly influential here) but does lead to who our HC will be now that Johnson has chosen the Bears and Coen will stay at the Bucs.

Talk of Carroll but I wonder if we’ll make a solid play for Todd Monken who was an assistant at the Bucs for 3 years under Spytek.

Brian Schottenheimer looks like he is getting the Cowboys head coaching spot.

A couple of the Cowboys fans in my life sounded more or less suicidal over the news.
