Dunno what it says about me but I somehow find wins like the Vikings’ OT victory in Chicago even more satisfying than Spurs’ 4-0 triumph at the Etihad. I like my teams to flirt with humiliation and disaster before eventually emerging victorious.

The Thanksgiving and Black Friday slate of games looks rough. The Lions are too well coached to slip up against the Bears even with Williams getting better each week. The Raiders won’t trouble the Chiefs on Friday. Tua’s record in cold weather points to an easy Packers win vs Miami and I don’t think anyone wants to watch anything involving the Giants with Tommy Cutlets at QB. Nabers’ comments after the NYG defeat yesterday have to be another nail in Daboll’s coffin.

Well, Daniel Jones apparently is looking to sign with a playoff contender. So that's potentially good for you, won't have him coming in and fucking up your tanking efforts.

Bad news is that the Giant have decided that Tommy "Cutlets" DeVito is their best path in tanking, which probably is correct.
Yea there’s absolutely no pretence in the Giants ambitions now and a question of who goes where between Sanders and Ward you feel although after this mad weekend in college football it might well have thrown a few more questions on this QB class - particularly Milroe.

Also, like it or not, Deion is going to have a big influence on where his son goes so could well see another Eli Manning episode.

Daniel Jones is going to be a great career backup on a good team. By the sounds of it he's very book smart and a good teammate. He'll be very useful to have in the QB room.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a chance as a bridge QB somewhere that’s going to be looking to take a rookie QB in the draft. Both he and potential suitors will look at what Darnold and the Vikings are doing this season and think that’s an appealing path.

Deion and Shadeur going to Vegas seems like the most Raiders thing possible.
It does but then equally the New York stage is just as alluring.

Also with Tom Brady as a minority owner it’ll be interesting to see how much clout he has in voicing his opinion to Mark Davis and indeed Tom Telesco.

I honestly don't see how any team in the NFL could actually consider Milroe as a potential fix at the QB position. He is a lot like Anthony Richardson except i am not sure he is even as polished as Richardson was when he came out. Which is saying something because Richardson is basically learning to play QB. Milroe is an absolute mess of a QB, he throws a really nice deep ball and he can run but he is also inaccurate, struggles to make pre and post snap reads and looks like he gets rattled.

I think the assumption was that he was going to make a jump under DeBoer and then pair it with his athletic ability and suddenly people started talking about him as a 1st rounder. But he has clearly regressed. From a couple podcasts i have heard his stock is plummeting at the moment.

Sounds like Sanders, Ward and Ewers are the 3 QBs that are maintaining 1st/2nd round grades. Beck was in that group but sounds like his recent play (which has been trash) has had people rethinking his ability. Nussmeir's stock was going up for the early chunk of the season (i heard McShay even say he may be QB1 in the draft) but his past few weeks seem to have people thinking he may go back for another year.

I think Sanders pushes his son towards Vegas and Hunter towards Dallas, but i don't know that either of the teams can make godfather offers if the have to jump a large number of teams.

Danny Dimes to the Vikes.

Smart move for them. Will be a solid backup to Darnold for the rest of the year and then when they lose him to free agency next season they should (depends on contract value but QB contracts even for backups should be big enough) get a compensation pick when he signs on elsewhere.

He'll make a great addition to the qb room behind McCarthy next season.

Do you keep Darnold or Jones as the backup?

Darnold would be coming off his career season and the starter for a a playoff team. Daniel Jones will be coming off of 70% of a season as Daniel Jones and 30% of a season as a backup.

I suppose it comes down to money

I think Darnold will get pretty solid 3 or 4 year deal from a QB desperate team and the Vikings will want to go cheaper with the backup. The Vikings have a pretty smart front office who will try to go all in with JJ on a rookie deal and paying Darnold would limit those options.

Isn't Jones still in the practice squad so any team could still sign him?
Yes but he’d have to agree to that, and he’s already chosen to sign with the Vikings over those other offers. It sounds like he would only sign elsewhere if a starting job arose at a playoff team.

With a so-so QB draft class, Darnold is going to get paid elsewhere you feel.

Not a particularly great FA either for experienced QB’s;

Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings
Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers
Justin Fields, Pittsburgh Steelers
Jameis Winston, Cleveland Browns
Joe Flacco, Indianapolis Colts
Jacoby Brissett, New England Patriots
Mac Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars
Andy Dalton, Carolina Panthers
Mason Rudolph, Tennessee Titans
Carson Wentz, Kansas City Chiefs

We're getting to the point where it's gonna be sad if the Lions don't win the Super Bowl. They're so good.

WTF was that from the Bears at the end? That was just awful clock management from Eberflus. Shambolic.

Next year with a decent HC the Bears will be good. This year they’ve blown any chance they had in the toughest division in the NFC with a bad OC (now fired) and HC who is out of his depth.
