Yep, that just about finishes off a perfectly shit sporting day. Jumping offside on 4th and 1, and handing the Steelers the win. Oh FFS!

I say this as a Patriots fan....

The Bears should fire Ryan Poles, Matt Eberflus and his entire staff into the sun.

This is the worst Patriots team i have seen since 1992 (we were 2-14 that season), we are horribly coached, untalented and undisciplined. We have a poor front office and a head coach who isn't showing anyone anything to believe he will become great. We have an offensive line that is horribly coached, can't open running lanes and struggles to protect the passer and that is 1 play away from asking someone in the stands to play. We have a defense that by and large has looked lost all season despite having 90% of the players from a top-10 D return.

Yet, somehow, Eberflus let the Pats run the ball, didn't get major pressure on Drake and let Williams get sacked 9 times by our defense (even though we traded our best pure pass rusher to KC).

I honestly don't know how as an owner, watching that game against the Pats you don't walk into Poles office immediately and fire him and then head to the locker room to fire Eberflus.

It’s a race to get Ben Johnson and I can’t imagine he’ll go from Detroit to Chicago.

That being said, is Vegas even attractive enough for him? Possibly with a top pick and a choice of Sanders or Ward.

In dissecting that Vikings win, not sure whether to focus on the positives of 400 yards on offence and limiting the opponents to a single scoring drive, or to focus on the negative of Darnold throwing 3 interceptions, leading the league in turnovers, and his tendency to try and force the ball to his preferred target when in the redzone. It nearly cost us at the Packers when he forced it to Jones, and nearly cost us today.

To me it’s madness that some in the national media think the Vikings have some dilemma over what to do with JJ McCarthy this offseason - if McCarthy were healthy he’d be in line to take over if Darnold had another game like today.

Re Ben Johnson, I think he might stay in Detroit for one more year. The Bears situation would be perfect for him but I don’t think he would move within the division, and I think he will favour another year of Detroit’s SB window over taking over the Raiders or Jags. The latter might depend on how highly he rates Trevor Lawrence.

Edit: The Cowboys job might appeal to Johnson but the Jones’ are making a right mess of things there, and they would need to prioritise the running back room in the offseason for Johnson to repeat his success with the Lions. I don’t think Jerry will ever invest heavily in RBs.

It's the Shouty Shows making segments. McCarthy is their future and Darnold will get a solid contract with a new team next year.

Yeah no doubt - I just can’t get imagine there’s another team where the narrative in the national media is so far removed from the local/fan view.

Bears have fired their OC. Not sure it’ll make much difference for this year as the playbook will remain largely unchanged but the play calling might improve a lot.

What record does Eberflus need to end the season with to save his job? 9-8? 8-9?

For me no record would make me want to keep him. Unless he somehow wins out which isn’t happening.

The fact he has such a bad road game record is enough to get rid. Bloke is more focused on his beard than he is on improving the team and playcalling.

Made a massive difference for me. Williams was really good. Game we should have won

We looked much better driving down the field yesterday but the issue is still horrendous playcalling by Eberloss. That's 30 losses in 44 games now I believe, how bad does his record have to get before he is fired.

Frustratingly....with a good coaching set up, this team is probably competing in our division......we have talent across the field, we still need a few positions addressing but we could have easily finished with a positive win record this season if we had a good HC.
